In its defense theres just as many schitful games on just about any other console. And theres no shortage of good games available. Hi, I didn't start this thread to trash the Saturn. Just the crappy games that were released on it. You're absolutely correct that terrible games exist on all systems. I personally felt that it was more difficult to find quality games on PS1 than the Saturn. There are definitely great games for the Saturn and many threads here are devoted to them. I'm just tired of wasting my time on crappy games and wanted to start a thread that would warn other potential buyers to stay away. BTW, I liked NBA Jam T.E. It's been awhile as I sold it but I remember it being fun to play. A: omg i dont think ive ever been quoted so often on this forum before im glad that I could be of service to you guys.. B: I never felt insulted or "attacked" or anyhting like that.. an opinion is an opinion, and it was asked so I was just giving mine...I would be happy to add reasons why those games are in the list if anyone would be interested... C: bradcap1, thanks for watching StrictlySega , im glad you enjoy the show. It's always great to see support coming from this way as I come here on segasaturn.co.uk like 100 times more than Saturn Junkyard or any other Sega forum in fact,, There are so many more clever contributors here, instead of bitchy kids fighting about which version of sonic is better.. and D: NBA Jam T.E is a great game and great fun with friends, the one I don't like is NBA Jam Extreme.. just the camera darting all over the place can be very off putting. Can I also add,, that even if a game is bad I don't think I could ever throw it in the bin, I would at least "give" it away to another collector, as I just don't have the heart to throw away something made for a console that I have such a deep respect for.. The same goes with Mega CD's.. I mean some of these games have lasted 20 years, far be it from me to end their life...

Really. What have you got against Athlete Kings and Winter Heat? I find the gameplay solid and is standard to all games based on Olympic Sports. What do I have against them? As I said, I find them tedious. The games themselves just involve button mashing or annoying timed jumps which are too tricky. I also hate the announcer's voice. I just could never get into them. I love Virtual Hydlide. There's a great sense of adventure with varying weapons, enemies and levels. It gets quite frightening too. I love it and can't understand the negative opinions of it. * sniffs and wipes a tear from his eye.I'm not alone... someone understands how I feel! * hugs

Now is isn't that a bit tedious as well? Same could be said for racers like Sega Rally. All you do is drive a car around a circuit. Whatas so appealing about that? Each to their own I guess. If its not what your into then fair enough. But like I said before, theres a difference between games which I don't like because they are not in my taste and games that are just pure trash because they were made badly so therefore the latter would be what I consider Trash E.g I've never really liked Guardian Heroes because its never really held my interest but I appreciate it for what it is and I'm quick to praise Treasure for the amount of effort they put into the game. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean its trash. Thats my point.

OK whatever, each to their own.

Glad you aren't offended Charlie as I meant nothing by my post. The trash bin is only metaphorical as I'd never actually throw any of my games away either. I would give a few away to good homes though.

These days, I wouldnt buy a SS game i didnt like. But generally, I cant stand any sport games so i never bought one.
In the past, a couple landed in my collection:
Shellshock; watching paint dry is more fun Grid run; this was just pure pus. Bug 1&2: Why make this when a ballistic 32-bit 2D Sonic game couldve been done? Hexen: No saturn should be forced to run this. PERIOD. Magic Carpet: Pointless. Hi Octane: Even Cyber Speedway is light years better. Starfighter 3000: Whilst not entirely trash bin material, it couldve been so much better.

Fighters Megamix, SWS97 and Euro96. Wow Skippy! While not my absolute favorites, Fighters megamix and SWS97 are both very high on my list of loved games. But, your opinion is certainly valid. Just curious though, what games do you like?

Really? Why on earth would you put those TWO great games in the trash bin? What is it about Fighters Megamix which you consider so bad and worthy of trash? Same for Sega Worldwide Soccer 97. Thats a great footie game. Why would you trash it? Of course opinions are opinions. But I'm quite curious to hear your views Skippy on why you think those two games are crap. I own both those games and although their not my favorites in their respected genres they are both way above the average mark in my book.

I think the graphics are too sketchy on FM, the characters respond too slowly and the extra characters suck... I hate the game with a passion.
As for SWS97, its bad in every way imo... controls, graphics... everything.
Games I like? Exhumed, Tomb Raider, Duke Nukem 3, Pandemonium, Gun Griffon, Sega Rally Championship, Gaurdian Heroes, Manx TT and Resident Evil. As you said opinions are opinions.

Although I haven't played Guardian Heroes. Also, I detest FPS so no Exhumed or Duke Nukem love here. Not that they aren't quality games, they just make me want to vomit after about 5 minutes of playtime. Still, I love SWS97. To me its a great game. I just play like crap when my team is facing the bottom of the screen. BTW, just thinking of playing a FPS makes me nauseous. It's that bad.

Tried Solar Eclipse for the first time. Glad I didn't pay much for it. Terrible game. I won't make the mistake of playing it again.
