Hey everyone.
I have a question... is there any difference in compatability between the first Sega Saturn (HST-3200) the white one (HST-3200, HST-0001, HST-0004, HST-0005), and the V-Saturns (RG-JX1/2).
I heard some Saturns have compatability problems with certain games, like Outrun, Space Harrier, Metal Slug...
Out of the three, which should I get?
Answers from experienced people only, please...

There is a second batch of some of the incompatible games patched to run on the shitter versions of the Saturn, although generally I'd stick with the first one or PAL and US models for actual gaming (Seeing as they are all compatible) and let the rest rot in hell

The first revision has problems with the power supply overheating doesn't it?
I'd trade compatibility with some of these games for a long lasting console.

The Hitachi and Victor Saturns are pretty much the same internally as their sega counterparts.
I've never had any compatibility issues with Metal Slug, and I've played that sucker on a lot of different Saturns...

The Hitachi is the latest one though, which is why I want it.
Sounds good, though. Not that Metal Slug is a priority of mine - I have the anthology on my PS2... Space Harrier I have on the SUGC on PS3... Outrun has been re-released in collections too.

Yeah, that's what wiki says. But I've heard from three different people about the whitey having probs.

I think these people probably have duff consoles that are picky about which games they read.
I use a white Saturn as my daily system, it plays everything.

Wow, I just can't decide what to buy...
I'm torn between whitey and Hitachi right now.
Does your white saturn have oval or round buttons?

The one I use daily is the round button model, I also have a round button PAL saturn set up next to it and am after a loose round button US saturn to have set up also.

I see. It's the one white that I want... I think I'm gonna go with the Hitachi one, though!

Nice, the HiSat MK1. Great machine, mine is in the USA now and I miss it. I hope yours came with the VCD card like it should.

Nah, but I got me a lot of goodies with it anyway! I'll get a VCD card later on.
