For those who don't follow the prototype scene, it's quickly becoming one of the best years on record for Saturn leaks...
Over at the Assembler forums, Segafreak (of Segacollection) is currently holding a poll to determine what title from his personal collection will be released for Christmas, the leading game currently a near-final build of Croc. If this wins, he'll also distribute an unspecified sports title as well, so hopefully plenty will continue voting. Also, he's since promised to further share another game, but so far we don't know what this is going to be. However, examples from his personal collection include working test discs for the abandoned Saturn version of Destruction Derby 2 and a review copy of Silicon Dreams' unreleased Chill, though I cannot guarantee either will be considered for this generous offer.
Meanwhile, fellow Assembler member and SegagagaDomain webmaster Yakumo has now stepped up by revealing that he will be sharing a rare Japanese sampler on Christmas Day. While not strictly unreleased, a beta version of X-Men: Children Of The Atom with several notable differences to the final build is still going to be a great addition to the list of Saturn prototypes available publically, and it should probably be mentioned that both Yakumo and Segafreak were involved with the previous release of Clockwork Knight Puzzle to a select few in trusted underground circles. SaturnWorship and the SegaSaturno team are currently raising funds to buy a prototype for release, but won't reveal its identity until they have the money in advance, so here's further incentive to get involved with the prototype world.
Finally, there's now a growing discussion elsewhere regarding the recent leak of raw data and viewing tools from Sonic Xtreme in its later PC guise, with plenty of new light being shed on this once mysterious stage of the ill-fated game's production. As someone who's been following the initial buzz, I've spotted a few revelations linked with the 32-bit prototype of Sonic Adventure in there as well, such as claims this game went into development before NiGHTS and therefore uses a more advanced version of the same graphics engine. There's even been findings to suggest portions of code from Sonic Adventure and NiGHTS are linked by way of evolving from the Sonic World project, but this is a discussion for another time!
P.S. Could we also be expecting a little surprise closer to home, perhaps by tomorrow?
