To be honest PAL Burning Rangers isn't really that expensive at all. I've seen so many buy it now £30 to £40 PAL copies. I've never seen it go for more than £40. And to be honest that's a good price if the games complete and in decent condition. Like I said before there is A LOT of vocal dialouge so I wouldn't recommend the jap version as the dialouge is essential to the game. But honestly, £70! Really? How hard are you looking? Assuming that was directed at me, which seems likely though im unsure, then I can see the misunderstanding. I had read the original post, in a rush probably, as Guardian Heroes and not Burning Rangers so I was referring to Guardian Heroes. Although it turns out it was released in the EU I dont remember seeing any copies of it just the Japanese version (at ~£17) and the US (at ~£60). EDIT: Looking now there is 2 copies of the PAL version on Ebay although again one is starting at £35 (which at that price I probably wouldent buy) and one is an auction im now watching that finishes in 5 days (which is annoying since I want to get my copy soon rather than waiting almost a week just to wait for the post). If you know of anywhere I can get a PAL version at a definative price then please do tell since id prefer it to be the PAL version.

I see. No biggie. Guardian Heroes has even more text than BR so I wouldn't recommend the jap version either.
If I see any cheap copies of Guardian Heroes going then I'll PM you

Ive got that one on my watch list but I dont really want to wait 5 days just to find out if I can get it. Is there anywhere that you know I could buy it at a definiate price now? If I have to wait 5 days to find out that I have to wait I cant get it then I might just get the Japanese version. Whats the text for? It is just text or without it could I not learn the game? I could do multiple paths without it naming them but if its so story heavy (like a jRPG) then it might be a problem since I wouldent know where to go and what to do as well as losing out on half of the game. From what ive seem of Guardian Heroes it looks like a brawler, like Golden Axe, with a worthless story and a funky versus mode so if its just that then the text seems worthless.

Its possible to play Guardian Heroes without reading the texts but then really all your left with is just a slightly better version of Three Dirty Dwarves LOL Part of the appeal with Guardian Heroes is its very heavy RPG text storyline. Many times during the gameplay you'll be asked for your opinion on certain matters which does effect the outcome of the navigation and relationships with other characters. As you'll need to play the game multiple times to access different levels of the game which you haven't yet completed and if you don't know what your selecting and why your selecting what your selecting then its pretty pointless. The levels are not in order, it all depends on the choices you make during the game determined by what routes you select and if you choose to welcome other characters or show them hostility during very long winded and I mean (VERY LONG WINDED) sections of text.
In reality Guardian Heroes is just your standard beat 'em' up but it tries to be a lot more than that by giving you a very detailed RPG story and breathing life into the characters and the worlds they live in.
If you choose to ignore that and choose to play the game just for the fun factor then it would be a pointless purchase.
Like I said, if you have know interest in the story an just want to play a fun beat 'em up on the Saturn without forking out loads of cash, then just stick to Three Dirty Dwarves as it cheaper and doesn't try to be anything other than just a fun beat 'em' up.

The reason I want to get Gaurdian Heroes is less about the game itself just that it was the first Saturn game I really looked into and heard a lot about so in my mind its linked in the same way for most people Virtua Fighter or Panzar Dragoon is. I dont think a storyline, which in all likely hood isnt good, would be worth £40 so I think id be better keeping that money to get an actual RPG (Though I dont know what RPG's are good on Saturn yet). EDIT: Side note, it also has a hamster/gerbil thing that you can have versus fights with!

Well in that case if your not interested in the storyline then don't bother with Guardian Heroes as you probably won't enjoy it and there are better beat 'em' ups out there.
There are many great RPG'S on the Saturn but many if not all of them are expensive and will most likely go for more than £30 although there are some bargains to be had but its really a case of being online at the right time.
Games like
Shinning Force 3 Dragon Force Panzer Dragon Saga Albert Odysessy Magic Knight Rayearth Shinning The Holy Ark
will ALL most definetly go for 40 plus. Especially Panzer Saga, Dragon Force and Shinning Force. Your looking at around £80-£100 for those games unfortunately.
Then theres games like Dark Saviour and Shinning Wisdom which are okay RPG'S but not as good as the ones above that you may find for £25-£30

At those kind of prices ill probably leave the RPG genre in my Saturn collection, though Ill probably end up getting one since I like having one of all genre's.

Especially Panzer Saga, Dragon Force and Shinning Force. Your looking at around £80-£100 for those games unfortunately. Actually, I got Magic Knight Rayearth and Shining the Holy Ark for $35 each(~£20) without much searching. I also managed to get Shining Force III for $55(~£30). (I won't say how much I paid for Panzer Dragoon Saga, as it would probably make many of you want to skin me alive...) So I wouldn't give up on those games as "too expensive", especially not MKR and StHA. And if you want a great Saturn RPG that is guaranteed to go for a reasonable price, I cannot recommend Mystaria(a.k.a. Blazing Heroes) strongly enough. Great gameplay, great storyline. And apparently it sold well enough at the time that there are plenty of copies to go around. (Don't forget imports, either. Grandia I is phenomenal, has a fan translation available online, and can be had for dirt cheap. Wachenroder also has a fan translation and can be had for dirt cheap, though if you're looking for a Saturn RPG with good storyline, it's definitely not the game you should pick up.)

Guardian Heroes and Burning Rangers are two of my most wanted Saturn games, hell most wanted games on any system really, but they're just too expensive for me to commit to. I know they're supposed to be two of the all-time best games, but I just can't bring myself to spend $50 or more on a single game.
