Hi Everyone, I signed up and started lurking on this site because it seems like the best Saturn resource out there and so I thought I'd start posting. I had always wanted a Saturn when I was little (I was about 6 when it came out) but ended up with a Genesis instead, which kept me very happy. I then went through PS, N64, and Dreamcast before stumbling upon a good deal on a Saturn collection. Since then it's kept me entertained. It sat collecting dust for a while but I always pulled it out when friends came over to show them ridiculous things such as the Daytona USA theme songs and fun games like Die Hard Arcade. A couple years ago a friend may or may not have made some artificial enhancements to it which allows for the play of import games and other cd media which has resparked my interest in the console. So recently I've delved back into it and purchased a few new accessories such as an s-video cable (I just recently got a new TV, upgraded from a 19" RCA-only CRT to a 32" 720p LCD), import 3D controller, and gameshark. I must say the few games that do have widescreen support (such as Nights and Panzer Dragoon Zwei) look fantastic! The 3D controller is a new world for nights too, I can't believe I tried to play it without it.

Welcome Quite a collection, is that gameshark any good? I am planning to buy a cheat device and that's the only one I can find on amazon.

To be honest I just got the gameshark in today so I can't vouch for it too much. I primarily purchased it for the 4MB of backup memory because I've been struggling to fit all my saves. I got mine for only $20 NIB on ebay. It does have cheats preloaded for about 50 games, mostly earlier titles. I'm not sure what if any cheats are floating around for it. It also apparently allows you to play import games on a US Saturn. Works fine for my needs! Here is the seller if you are interested, it is the best price I've found cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250564509544&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:ITIn the credits of the gameshark it says it is based on Action Replay technology, so I would imagine that probably makes it newer than the action replay units floating around, but I'm not sure about that.

Thanks for the info, I mainly want it for save back up, but a cheat device is a nice plus

Welcome. I'd be careful with that gameshark though. I've never used one myself, but they are infamous for destroying cartridge slots. They are supposed to have possibly the thickest pcb out there....

Welcome!
Becareful with the gameshark they're flaky as hell. IF you get one that actually works you'll be lucky. I've tried 6 (including 2 DOA's from that seller) with no success. Don't add new game codes because that's how I fried 3 of them.
Action Replay is the way to go!
If I remember right you can play imports with the gameshark but you have to hold down xyz when you boot a game.
