Hey I thought the game was mediocre for years. So no probs. But I have to say that one of the things I like about Saturn collecting is reading the manuals. Sounds lame huh?

Judging by the tone of your post, you were trying to pass me off as one of those rowdy fanboys who go nuts when people don't like the same stuff. Yart, nothing could be further from the truth. I post predominately on my favourite football teams fans forum and it's termed as banter here in Glasgow. Quick one line answers delivered with the dry Scottish sense of humour. Nothing more. Maybe because you were too embarrassed to answer back? I dunno. Either way, I'm not trying to argue with you. You don't even have to give me an answer if you feel uncomfortable. I'm just trying to give helpful advice to better your gaming experience. 'Tis all. I'll be 50 years old later this year, believe me, I'm wayyyyyyyy past the stage of feeling uncomfortable or embarrassed about anything!!! I didn't give a long reply because I didn't think I was doing more than sharing a jokey remark or two. But if you want an explanation........ I have a family, I work, sometimes long hours, I have lots of responsibilities as a Father which has big demands on my time. I'm doing lots of work on my home and find my biggest outlet for some relief is to contribute to both this forum and that of my Football team. As a result, I'm lucky if I manage to get an hours gaming a week. I also play an online Soccer management game that requires daily participation, other than that it's been weeks since I've played any other game. If I'm going to play a game, it needs to grab me right away because I simply don't have the time or the inclination to play something I might not thoroughly enjoy. My gaming experience of over 30 years tells me pretty quickly what I'll like and what I wont. Nights isn't my sort of game and I know I wont enjoy playing it as much as I would playing something like Shining Force and as my time is limited, I have to pick what I know I'll enjoy most. I've seen a couple of posts this week that's made me think, "bloody hell that reaction wasn't warranted" and it's a shame, because on the whole I feel this place is better than that. However for the forum to flourish and for more folk to make posts, some people need to be a bit more tolerant of other posters views otherwise there will be a hardcore of about 20 regular posters and very little else and that would be shit!

I'd started another post in which I was going to quote your first paragraph bradcap as an example of how I've felt about the game over the years but didn't think it was fair to involve you. When I find a game I want to play and I'm having trouble with it, of course I read the manual. Apparently only illiterates and fat headed 12 year olds don't!!! (I'm joking, I'm joking!!!) But when time is short, you can't beat a good 'pick up and play game'.

But when time is short, you can't beat a 'pick up and play game'. (Unless it's something really crap like Panzer Dragoon, Sega Rally or Virtua Fighter) That'll be more dry humour, eh? It's more like something chizzles would say - except no-one takes his anti-Saturn troll baiting seriously. I'm not getting it, tbh.

Was unaware of such problems you've had before, so remark removed.
Learning lots about this forum and it's posters today!

That'll teach me not to read the whole thread. A slight over-reaction on my part, methinks. Sorry about that. Hey - at least I'm big enough to admit it. Guess I'm just a tad overly-fanboyish at the moment. I love my Saturns and my Saturn gaming - I can't help defending them at the drop of a hat ;D ;D No harm done, eh?

Apologies due on my part also Willja, having a very bad time of things at the moment and jumped to the conclusion you were a troll or another one of our 'friends' with a new account, please ignore my remarks completely.

Well GZ to OP. =)
My history with NiGHTS is a somewhat shakey one. It's safe to say that except Elder Scrolls IV, my expectations for a video game has never as high as they were with NiGHTS. At first, i was greeted with one of the biggest video game related letdowns ever. Gameplay i understood nothing of and graphics that really didn't do the artstyle justice. I read the instruction booklet but there where so many strange terms and they where kinda fuzzy on the actual concept of the game. Basically i felt like this game was not living up to the hype. Yet after a week i found myself sitting infront of the TV playing several hours every day after work. I still to this day do not know why. But slowly as i started to understand how things worked i became better and better and before i knew it, i was in love with the game. It's a game like no other, a flying/platform/racing hybrid with the best art ever created in a video game. But at the same time it's a relentless game that does nothing to hold your hand like todays games. It's a hardcore game for the core gamers, and not something you put in the hands of your 60 year old dad or 10 year old sister. What i am trying to say is that if you get past the high threshold, you will find a game that is one of the most rewaring experiences you can get infront of a TV.
