OK, so i've played video games for 25 years....but i've never played Puzzle Bobble. Yea, i know. No comment. But now i just picked up Puzzle Bobble 3, and i think i'm kinda inlove. This game is really fun! I got it on Tuesday and i popped it in just to see if it worked. But i ended up playing it for 2 hours. But i got a few general questions about Puzzle Bobble and a few menu questions.
1. I understand the basic idea of Puzzle Bobble, but i'm not sure about the point system. Is it best to quickly rack up small 3 combos or is it better to try and build up larger ones?
2. When playing against the AI, sometimes he will spawn additional bubbles on my screen. When do this occur, and can i do it to my opponent?
3. This is for anyone with the Japanese version of Puzzle Bobble 3. When i choose Arcade from the menu i get three options. The one to the right is vs mode i think. The one in the middle seem to be arcade mode against an AI opponent and the one to the left seem to be some sort of single player mode where you play on your own. I got this right?
4. After i've selected one of the three game modes mentioned above i get to another screen with yet again three options. What are these?

1. Definitely try to make bigger combos. You clear your screen faster and flood your opponent's. In the Single Player mode, chaining is key as the ceiling drops depending on how many times you fire, not based on a timer. The less shots you make, the better.
2. It happens when you break a ton of bubbles, or drop a bunch from underneath a row you destroyed.
3. Yes.
4. If it's like Puzzle Bobble 2, top is Easy Mode (only 3 rounds), middle is Normal and bottom is Hard.

You rock dude, thanks alot. I kinda suspected that the "second" menu was easy, medium and hard mode. But at the same time, you can change the difficulty at the option menu. Wierd.

That's pretty standard for arcade games. The Option Menu Difficulty is the same as the arcade dip switch settings, meaning only the operator would have access to them. The in game difficulty menu is for the actual player.
