It only works as an add-on for the game it came with. Such as KoF 96.

They're not region specific so you probably have to jiggle it a bit, or push it all the way in then pull it a little bit up, which seems to be the best method to get it working. Bless that dodgy saturn cartridge port!

Read the replies.
If you've bought a RAM cart, then it'll only work with the game it came with. For example King of Fighters, etc.
If you're meaning that you bought an Action Replay cart, then that's a different matter.
Did you try what hodlogs said? You can read, yes?

The hint of hodlogs works for me. I figured that out some years ago with my gamebuster cardridge... I own three of the 4MB RAM packs and some need more "jiggling" than others. Not pushing it to the end works for me, only until it feels fastened and the pins have contact. You should also try to blow through the contacts of the card and the slot of the saturn. Just like in the old SNES times

He's using a Japanese RAM Cartridge... on his US Saturn.
Answer: Your US Saturn won't play the Japanese game as it is region locked, regardless of whether the cartridge worked or not. (Unless you have a region switch installed)
An Action Replay would let you play any region game on your system and act as a RAM cartridge as well.
You need a Japanese Saturn for your Japanese game and Cartridge as no US games ever used the RAM Cartridge. (Or look into a region mod switch at least)

nevermind something must have gotten screwy when i blew it out with the can of air or with all the vibrations from being flipped over and what not but i went ahead and un-modded the door sensor and it now works correctly. since i have the mod chip there was no need for it anyway.

Glad we could be of help although I would never use alcohol for cleaning By the way, can you tell me the serial number of your saturn? I want to get a better picture which saturns are compatible with the modchip. For PAL saturns I know it already...
