Worth me buying the JP version of this? Would it be too JP text-heavy for someone who doesn't speak the lingo to appreciate?

As with any RPG, it's pretty text heavy, you're going to really struggle understanding what the hell is going on with the JP version.

Have you considered getting the US Version? Its not really that expensive.You can pick it up for around 30-35 quid if you shop around.

Buy the US Version arround 40 - 50 USD its good price

According to the manual, the USA version also has shorter loading times, less frequent random encounters, and less requisite grinding for the final dungeons as well. I have both versions of the game but haven't really gotten around to trying out the Japanese version to confirm the differences.
But even if the only difference is the text and voice acting, you're still better off paying the extra 30 US dollars for the USA version.
