I live in Hong Kong and recently bought a 2nd hand modded white Saturn with a Sanyo drive. At first the only way I could get copies to work was if i tilted the Saturn on its side. I figured perhaps that the laser was out of alignment so I adjusted it slighty and found that cd-rs worked 60% of the time.
The strange thing however, is that if i take the top casing off of the system and try a cd-r, they work almost 100% of the time. Ideally I want the same result but with the casing on; anyone have any ideas?

Defective drive door switch, tape it closed and try again with the case on.

Thanks for the advice. I tried it and it didn't make any difference so I took it back and got a replacement that (so far) works a charm!
