Hello,
I recently bought a brand new Saturn Model I from a friend (new in box, never used). Along with the console I also received a brand new sealed copy of "D", keep in mind both console and games are NTSC N. America.
The system worked fine, aside from having to raise the CD spindle, which was seated too low. I've tested Nights Into Dreams and D disc I, both worked great.
My problem is; in D when I reach the point in which you are prompted to insert disc II, I open the Saturn and insert the disc only to get this error "Disc unsuitable for this system", and the game fails to load.
After many attempts I managed to get the disc to play an audio track in Japanese, a woman speaking but I cannot speak Japanese.
Any help on this matter would be great, as it's really puzzling why it wont read this disc.
I see in my memory manager an entry for the game, so I'm assuming that's my position in the game for when I insert the second disc.
Thanks!

Sounds like a problem with reading the disc not a problem with your save, silly question but is the condition of the disc ok?

Thanks for the quick reply, Disc appears to be mint, I looked at it closely and I don't even see a scratch. I'm playing an audio CD on the console right now and I've yet to hit any skips in the tracks, I don't know if that helps. edit: I'm a complete newbie with the Saturn, coming from the PlayStation, so please bear with me

I would be tempted to download SSF emulator and see if the 2nd disc boots properly through your PC.

Okay I followed your advice and tried an emulator, disc 2 boots fine on Satourne V2.0 beta 3, using both BIOS E/U.
I reach the screen which says "Attention this is Disc 2. Please insert Disc 1 to play."
So it must be a problem on my physical hardware then?

Are you saving onto cartridge or your Saturn's internal memory?

The internal memory, the battery was never used, so that would be new as well.

O.K. I think I might be onto something, I think my whole problem is the seating of the spindle. I reseated the spindle down a little lower and now my disc 2 is being read. My question now is; is there any optimum range for the spindle to be seated at? It might be me but I think the CD is rubbing against the housing around the spindle, where it sits now. I can hear a faint scratching while the CD spins and I'm afraid to scratch the disc. I'll keep everyone abreast if anything more comes up, thanks again! edit: Yup it's a seating problem! Reseated and now appears to be working fine, so long as I don't push down too far whilst inserting a CD Thanks for the help mick_aka, feel free to lock this thread if needs be
