First of all, the battery in my JP saturn is dead. Can you use any standard CR2032 battery or are japans batteries also different to us british? second question, check this picture... This is coming from my new model 2 JP saturn. As you can see the RGB looks fantastic with no issues and is full screen except... notice the thin black line along the top? Is that supposed to be there? Just wondering since even though it's still somewhat full screen that small line at the top was just making me a little confused. It's more than likely nothing though since I tested out Exhumed and now the game is full screen with the whole gui at the bottom going along rather than being pushed to the right slightly. But again i just wanna check thats all... finally, will my PAL official saturn memory card work with a JP unit or will I need to buy another? THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HELP IN ADVANCE GUYS!

Same battery and Memory cart works just as well as far as I know... can't say about that black line though.

Different games display in different resolutions, hence different screen sizes. You can always just enter service mode and overscan if it bothers you.

Yeah I figured that was the issue. I've tried out some other NTSC titles and they have the same slim black line at the top so that's why I was curious if it's supposed to be there or if it's my tv. I'm not bothered by it being there, I just want to know it's supposed to be there or not

Well depends on your TV. Different TV's will center the picture differently. Best thing to do is use the TV settings, and raise the entire picture up. There might be a few picture lines that are hidden by being too low on the screen.

That's possible although I don't believe that's the issue at all. Anyways, I'm sure someone here will get back to me on this with them having it too in some form

Just something to try. When using RGB with my Sony, it likes to display the differently for every system. MegaDrive is usually too far too the left. MSX is usually too low. Arcade boards are all over the place.

I'll have a look into it. Doesn't it like make the changes for everything though? so say i plugged a dvd player into scart after the whole image should be shifted up? mainly because my dvd's from what I know display full with no issues.

yup that's correct. My Sony let's you change it through normal menus, Service mode is not required on my set.

It's the TV, I have a mikomi TV, I recently posted about how I got it from an auction for £1.50! it does exactly the same.

yup that's correct. My Sony let's you change it through normal menus, Service mode is not required on my set. Some televisions do it on a per-input or mode basis, so for example, if AV1 is overscanned more, AV2 will stay how it was. Or if an NTSC RF signal is overscanned, 60Hz RGB will remain the same, etc.
