So last night I wanted to fire up Zen Nihon Pro Wrestling Featuring Virtua, but for some reason, my Saturn refused to read the game. When I started the system up, the game spun around for a few seconds, and stopped spinning. I thought maybe my Action Replay wasn't in correctly, so I took it out and fired up the game without the cart to see if the system was picking up if there was a disc in it. It wasn't, as the message on the CD player screen said "tray empty". However, when I put in any other game, it worked just fine, with no issue at all, including other JP games. I tried to clean the disc with a lint free cleaning cloth, but to no avail, this game wasn't going to work.
Now, a day later, I put the disc back in, and it works with no problem.
Can anyone diagnose the problem for me? Is my Saturn's laser slowly dying? Is the disc scratched in a certain way? Or do I have an Oni hiding in my Saturn?
Edit: just tried to play the game again, and it isn't working. Can someone please help me?

Yeah it's your Saturn's laser. If you keep reseting, it will boot sooner or later. Best thing to do is open it up, and turn the laser voltage screw up a notch. But this won't work forever either.

It seems that you are correct. I just tried three other games and they all had the same symptoms. I'm going to try and clean the lens itself first, as it seems like a light layer of dust has accumulated in the console. If that doesn't work, then I'm going to have to open it up. The only thing is, if tightening the voltage screw won't work forever, does that mean I'm going to have to replace the whole lens mechanism, or will I have to buy a new Saturn? Edit: Problem solved. It seems like I needed to clean the lens, as a light layer of dust had accumulated on it. Now all the games work just fine.
