Not many games have specific use for the 3d analog part of the controller, but you can use it as a regular controller on anything (there's even a switch on it that locks the card in normal mode, for compatibility reasons).

Any game that makes use of the Race wheel or the Mission stick can be played with the analogue stick but it a bit janky.

I can only recommend playng Nights or Manx TT racing with the 3D pad, it works a dream with them. It will suffice if you want a second player in bomberman or something - just don't try to play any capcom beat em ups with it, we tried that back in the day and it's not worth it.

So I have got this controller now and basically, it's a waste of time.
I haven't tried all of my games, but of all my SHMUPS, it only works on Soukyugurentai and even then it's very jumpy and not smooth :/
Doesn't work on Capcom Generations 1, DonPachi, Layer Section, Metal Black, Strikers 1945, Strikers 1945 II, In The Hunt, Detana Twinbee Deluxe, Metal Slug or Panzer Dragoon.
Does work with Sonic Jam and NiGHTS though....wow
Abit disappointing really.

Get the Arcade stick for the shmups and fighter games. The analogue controller is aimed more towards the 3D games. Games I had a great time with the analogue controller are as below:
Nights Daytona CCE Panzer Dragoon Azel Quake Sonic Jam Sonic R Manx TT Burning Rangers
There just wasn't as many 3D games for the Saturn compared to other 32bit consoles.

I have the arcade stick mate, but I prefer the normal d-pad for SHMUPS (probably because it's less hassle than getting the stick and table out lol).

The 3d controller can also be used for Quake and Duke Nukem.

I can confirm that the 3D pad works very well with Burning Rangers, but Nights is the only game you NEED it for imho.

Definitely. Using a D-pad for NiGHTS makes the game feel clunky and takes a way from the experience. It's playable still but the 3d controller allows smooth, fluid motion.

It also works for Panzer Dragoon Zwei but I've always found the normal D-Pad to be easier to control. Works wonders with Shining Force 3 though.
Edit:
Panzer Dragoon also works with the analog controller, just need to use the d-pad for the menus, so maybe some of the other games have this quirk.
