yeah true a fan would mean you'd no longer hear the subtle sounds of the saturns cd drive purring away, such a soothing sound

Well this is my first post guys, and i know this is a 3 years old thread but.. i recently got a hold of some jap gray consoles and saw this difference ( hence why i found this forum)..
To me the 3200 its a lot nicer, but im guessing for some modding purposes the 3210 model could be better and also harder to find right?
Anyways i got 5 saturns and they are all 3200 models except for one.. sadly the 3210 is not working.. it seems that the cd unit got fixed somehow and although the black cover ( where the lens rail is located) is attached properly, the disc is way to low and actually touches the cover, on top even though i removed it to check if that was the problem well no.. it just wont spin, the lens does its job and seems fine ( for th emost part).. but the disc wont spinn.
Any ideas of what could be wrong?
thanks in advance and again great forum..

HST-3200 is always VA0 (launch model), made from late 1994 to early 1995. HST-3210 is VA1-3. They were made in 1995. VA1 has the same cd drive as VA0, but VA2-3 uses a newer drive). Both are equally easy to mod if you know what you are doing (most people don't, so they say BS like one model is easier to mod and so and so...).
The drive will only spin up the disc if it sees something resembling a disc. If it doesn't, it won't try spinning it up. This can be because the tray is way too low, or because the laser is miscalibrated, or the laser is simply dead. In your case you most likely just need to adjust the tray.
