was that the s/n-ish looking sticker on the board?
Your making me think of one of my other systems- the one with the two serial numbers (AE68 and AE64 numbers) I seem to remember you said that one was refurbished too. Just a difference in locations they were refurbished at i guess? where one location completely replaced all identifying marks and another just put another sticker over the old one?

Yeah, that's the one, it lists the manufacturing date. For ex. AF68270000 would be made by AF (Hyundai), on 1996/08/27 (this was in a machine with the serial number AF67091875).
AE68 and AE64 sound like normal units to me, not sure what you mean about them having stickers put on top of older stickers.

I mean the serial number sticker on that one has the number AE64181053 with another sticker over top of just the s/n (not the whole sticker) with another s/n, AE68066003. That one has a board with #AE608140000, VA8 in it.

Ah, I found it, you probably already posted it. It looks like it is in pretty awful condition, is possible it was refurbished, but it's also possible that someone just switched cases and wanted to copy over the serial number. The cases are backwards compatible I think (never actually tested it, but all the screw hook-ups and generic shapes are at the same location).

Yeah, its in pretty bad shape. It was disassembled and spray painted blue before i got it, and has been the only system out of the ~15 ive got as non-working that was dead and I couldn't fix (I forget why). The top number isn't off another console, its on a different sticker, slightly larger than the s/n location and a different material.

I have taken photos of the backs with the serial numbers of several Sega Saturns I saw for sale in Japan. Would these be acceptable to be submitted into your database, Zyrobs?

Thanks! I have taken photos of the backs with the serial numbers of several Sega Saturns I saw for sale in Japan. Would these be acceptable to be submitted into your database, Zyrobs? Sure is. Most of the stuff online are pics I got from ebay and yahoo japan.

I just picked up another saturn off Ebay. It's a VERY early US model 1 system in the box (without the virtua fighter pack in sticker), with the serial number B5 000920. It appears to have been some sort of testing system for some third party developer because it came with a black system disc and is marked on the box MI-106 and on the disc and console PRODUCT SUPPORT MI-106.
I'll try to dig out my camera and get you some pictures of it.

Burned through most of my backlog, including a giant 900+ picture archive donated by BKK. 4500+ serials online. That would be most welcome! The more pictures the better. Same for the system disc!
