The floppy disk originally came with the drive. Its just a normal disk, so yes, it is simply a bonus free disk. Would be quite awesome if someone could make some kind of homebrew software to make use of the floppy ;D

Yea. Imagine a DOS emulator for the Saturn for our floppy games. ...bwaahahahaha! Just kidding. 20Mhz processors vs. the usual 40MHz of a 486... Still would be cool. Oh wait... dual 28MHz processors... www.consoledatabase.com/consoleinfo/segasaturn/...hm.... Meh. Too technically advanced for me. Would be cool though. Imagine Zork on the Saturn!

It may be. There's more Japanese text than I can handle to check it out.

Segagaga has a video of the intro to Saturn Zork... that might answer your question. I've never played Zork for any platform so I couldn't tell.
I hadn't realized that floppy discs were still going cheap. That makes this a more tempting buy... At the least, it would seem to be a more convenient method of backing up my saves than the Saturn USB link. I use a 4-in-1 too, but I don't fully trust my Saturn's cartridge slot.

The cartridge slot is part of the reason I bought my FDD. Now I can just leave my AR4-1 in there all the time.
The FDD has it's faults but it's another option.
Just make sure it comes with the disc or it isin't worth it. Since my Saturn's modchipped I used madroms Dezaemon 2 Save Game Manager until I had a proper disc. The D2SGM, besides having a ton of great games, allows you to transfer saves and it's in English. Not that the Saturn Memory Menu is that difficult to figure out in Japanese.
