Hi guys. Im a new user form Argentina. I bought a model 2 American Saturn in really bad shape really cheap. Here in Argentina a Saturn are quite expensive, like 300 or 400 US Dollars....madness... Anyway, some parts are missing, like the power switch and the whole CD system. I now for pictures in the net, the power switch goes with a ceramic capacitor. I can´t find the values of the cap. Please someone can tell me! Please excuse my bad english hehe ;D. Thank you. foly Adios amigos!

I don't know what you want us to say, it sounds pretty hopeless if the CD drive is missing.

My initial comment was "GOOD LUCK", but I tried to hold myself back to be nice.
Seriously. That thing isn't gonna run.

$300-$400 each in argentina? anyone know where i can get 100 sega saturns and a plane ticket to argentina? Hahaha, sad but it´s no a joke ... The saturn is one of the most expensives...in the first place is the NEO GEO AES and the CD, respectively are 1000 US dollars and 1500 Well tanks anyway for advice, but i will keep seraching how to repair this pile of junk ;D. I´d like to repair things, even if i can´t get it to work i can learn from it. If anyone is disasembling his own Saturn, pleace take 1 minute to see the value of the cap and post it here, im not asking for money, just help...from one saturn fan to other.

I'll be taking apart a model 1 Saturn soon, I'm not sure if it uses the same caps as the model 2, but I will take a picture of the switch for you

Cool. I like this guy's attitude.
Someone with a spare Saturn should send one down. I kinda wish I saved my old Model 1 I gave away now.

Foly I can mail you a model 2 power switch and CD assembly to Argentina for the price of postage, which is around $9.50 US.

It should be the same cap. It´s like a electrical noise filter i think. The two models manage the same voltages. Thanks man, no need to post a picture, just the number or words printed in the cap. Awesome man! I´ll send you a PM!

IT'S ALIVE!!!!! The spares from mik arrived like a week ago and today start working on it. Couldnt find any A/V cable so i did the RCA/S-Video mod. I dont have a single game for test the lens so i tested it with an audio cd and its working really well. Maybe tomorrow get some games and i´ll show you if it´s 100% functional. Again thankyou very much guys for the help and specially to mik for the spares.

very nice that you made it work! it looks like the chinch and composite cable is plugged to the battery cap...why is that?! 300-400$ I cant believe...There are international sellers on eBay who ship worldwide for about 50,-$ plus 50,-$ for the Saturn itself...So it should be possible to get a Saturn for about 100,-$... I would ship to Argentina and also mod the console to get more out of it. If you provide the connections we can make a business
