Just a quick post to say hello from the sunny North-East England. Not a complete Sega noobie as i used to own one in 1997-1999 after my 3DO journey came to an swift end. Had some great experiences right up to the end of support for the Saturn in the UK. The last game i bought for my old Saturn was Deep Fear. Moved onto the Dreamcast after a brief dip into PC gaming but always had a soft spot for this great little machine. I would go as far to say the Saturn & the Dreamcast are my two favourite machines of all time so have started to buy a couple of old machines to relive my past glories and have a laugh along the way. ;D

Welcome aboard mate, nice story.Your intro is similar to mine in as much as you are rediscovering your old gaming roots, the Saturn is a great place start and this site can only energize your enthusiasm. This is one of the best retro sites on the web so enjoy!

last game being deep fear seems fitting, what with it being the last commericial release; a real die-hard fan from the sounds of things...
welcome to the forums.

Yeah, Deep Fear. That game always seemed so interesting to me, what with me beating Resident Evil 1-4+Code Veronica on Dreamcast... Though I think RE1 is still my fav and RE2 my least fav... So how does Deep Fear stack up? OSSM said not as good as RE series but still really good... Though to me sound like a great way to end the Saturn in UK. Was glad to hear a game like this existed for the Saturn when I first read OSSM scan provided by meppi.
Oh yeah, welcome to the.. place, viper68. I'm basically here to rejuvenate my interest in the system too and learn to play more than just one game for this system. So far messing with Shmups and see if I can develop the chops to be descent at them...

Thanks for the welcome everyone ;D Regards Deep Fear i remember feeling quite sad when i bought it as i new it was the last game being released in the UK but i was already planning on saving for a Dreamcast. The game itself was pretty good. I think it would be fair to say it wasn't quite up to Capcom's RE series, i also think it was a bit on the easy side ( it must have been if i finished it ) Well worth trying out if you can get hold of one these days - which seems to be more difficult than i expected. There seemed to be some really good games out as the Saturn was wound down... Shining Holy Ark i remember as being really good as i wasn't a big RPG fan, and Lobotomy did Quake ( OK game - good tech demo ? ) Happy Days.
