Hooking up both PS2 and Saturn to my tv forced me to choose which system has to use s-video and which scart connection, since I only have one s-video input. Eventually I used s-video with PS2 since the only other cable I've got is composite, it makes a bigger difference, and for the Sautrn I also have the RGB, or so I thought. I'm sure it's connected to the right, RGB compatible socket, but the picture quality is still composite-ish. In Shining the Holy Ark all text is "fuzzy" (and if you choose the "transparent" boxes then... oh dear). I'm wondering if this RGB scart I've got is actually a composite in disguise. Here's a video, it should be visible (if not, choose 720p and enlarge the screen): www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHk2WE2B2uE

Looks too good to be composite, what kind of TV are you using?

I'm using Samsung LE32A450 LCD TV. I guess the quaility of the picture is not that bad, but the dot-crawl still bugs me, s-video was crystal clear (though maybe it's something different, I could also describe this artifact as "pixels flashing in areas of contrasting colours).

It's probably the usual HDTV gashing up 240p signal syndrome I'm afraid. You could try finding/making a composite sync SCART cable if you have a NTSC machine or try a Model 1 Saturn instead if you can't afford a video processor.

This is the same problem as I've got, did you get your cable off of eBay recently?

No, I've got it 2 years ago from elsewhere but I wouldn't be surprised if it was identical to those on eBay.
