Hey Saturn fans, help us spread the word. We're especially on the lookout for more bilingual talent for the Japanese-to-English translation. If anyone who happens into this forum knows English and Japanese and wants to help bring this baby to English fans, please PM FaustWolf at www.verve-fanworks.com/SMF/Thanks!

Yeah, the editing is all done on a computer. And as you can imagine, it ain't easy! ;D I'm hoping the final result will play on actual hardware, but no guarantees. It'd probably have to be modded anyway, to be able to play user-burned discs. To boot, the only emulator that runs the game well is SSF.

Very cool!
It's nice to see Saturn games finally becoming English.

Though I've yet to play the first one, it's still great to see a Japanese Saturn game get a translation.

Either way this is awesome stuff. I'd LOVE to know how you managed to replace japanese text with english it's real cool. If more people knew then maybe more people could translate many great japanese releases into english for them to be able to play. Either way it's awesome stuff mate

It's certainly not for the faint of heart, either on the translation side or the technical side. I've gained a much better appreciation for how different English and Japanese are, and great respect for the skills of Reinofhearts and Sandslice, the project's lead translators so far. On the technical side, one has to deal with compressed images and text, which means...learning algorithms! Ahhh! Every game is very different and the way its engine handles different data has to be learned from scratch, often with the help of a debugger. Thank goodness for Yabause! It still doesn't play the game fully though; people will want to use SSF when the final translation patch is ready. Speaking of which, it'll be awhile. The more help we can get on the translation side especially, the faster it'll go though!

Welcome to nearly-finished testing and footage instead of an announcement?

Sure. You still should have bumped the existing thread since it's faustwolf's baby.
