I was (virtually) flicking through issue 32 of Next Generation magazine - courtesy of Retromags - when I discovered a strange code for Daytona USA CCE on page 198 that I've not seen printed anywhere else...
"To race as a yellow New York taxi cab, enter the following code on the orange light at the start of the race in Arcade Mode: C, A, B"
Can anybody confirm this exists, as I'm not able to get it working on my PAL version? There's a possibility it's exclusive to the US release, though I think we'd have seen it mentioned somewhere else before now!

I had no luck with the US version Maybe I'm not doing it fast enough? Maybe it has to be a specific car? EDIT: I was going to take a look at Issue 38 myself but I'd have to join

No luck here either. One problem is that there is no orange light. It goes red to yellow to green. But I tried the code on all of the light colors and on all tracks too. I tried it on Daytona USA as well.

Maybe its a fake cheat. There were a lot of those during the 90's. "Run around the Fountain 100 times to unlock Luigi" anyone?

As I said before, it's strange this hasn't been listed anywhere else (or at least it hasn't to my knowledge). I'm guessing it was either submitted to the magazine or created by a member of the writing team as a planned joke for the April issue, but for whatever reason didn't make it to print until months later - you'd think with page space being so tight that someone would have checked to see if this works, though to be fair it's not the only incorrect code for a Saturn game I've seen...
Does anyone else remember the cheat in Saturn + that allowed you to play as a character named Tiger in the first Virtua Fighter? Yes, there is indeed a roar sample hidden away in this game's sound test, yet I think we'd know by now if a playable fighter by that name was also in there somewhere. Of course, there were far worse examples I could think of. Who can recall Electronic Gaming Monthly and its long running "Sheng Long" joke in the Street Fighter series? Capcom even went as far as to finally acknowledge that one by making it a reality!

I HAVEN'T BOTHERED... to try this one yet, on CCE, CE or otherwise. I'd 99% say that this is one of those April Fools codes, imo. BEST APRIL FOOLS CODE... I remember is the one to make Lara Croft naked in the original Tomb Raider. Basically you had to pause the game and use the shoulder buttons to tap out the exact rhythm of Spice Girls' "Wannabe". This turn generated some disco lights with Lara Starting to dance and, surprise surprise... it faded out and she returned with zero clothing! To the magazine (C+VGs) credt, the photoshopping on this was very convincing and... many of use pre-teens didn't even KNOW what Photoshop was back then, thus it MUST have been real (p.s. I definitely tried it several times... lol!)

Yep this doesn't work on CE either (unless I'm getting it massively wrong) so I'm calling shenanigans.
