It's just a little fault I'm guessing - just wanna see if it's an easy fix before I pass it on as spares / repair...
As a whole the unit is absolutely fine. It boots up to the OS and gives a good, clear image. The only problem is that the discs don't spin when the lid comes down. I can spin the disc manually and the laser starts to read it, but then the disc slows back down and we're back to square one.
Any ideas? If there's anything else you wanna know about the system just ask.
And I apologise if this has already been asked. I tried a search but couldn't find anything =)

Hmmmm yes it sounds like the motor could be dead, however the spindle may be down to low preventing the disc from spinning. Seeing as it isn't working anyway, maybe try pulling it up gently with some pliers?
other than that maybe try to find a Saturn that has a working assembly with a broken laser (or even working =P) and try swapping it over =)

Okay - I'll give that a go tomorrow. If I make anything worse I still have a replacement Saturn winging its way to me regardless. =p
But my technical expertise could be written down on the back of a stamp and still have room left for the design. =p
