As the title states, I'm in possession of a model one Saturn that I picked up online for $5 shipped a few years back. It DOES power on, and all the ports work and I can browse around the menu. The issue it has is that when a disc is inserted, it spins them backwards. I can't understand it at all. It starts to spin the disc clockwise, then about a half of a second later, spins up counter-clockwise. VERY rarely it will spin the disc normally, though it still doesn't read it. If requested, I can try to videotape the issue and post it on YouTube. Is there an explanation for this? I'd like to make this a backup or test unit if I can get it working properly. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Only thing I can think of is to open up the Saturn and try adjusting the calibration of the disc drive. This has always work with my disc reading problems, though I can't recall my discs spinning backwards. Worth a try though.

... try adjusting the calibration of the disc drive. If you are referring to the POT adjuster, or the orange screw looking thing, I messed with that already with no luck. I marked where it originally was then tried basically any setting I could Any other ideas?

If it was me I'd simply buy another unit. Saturns are so inexpensive these days that it makes more sense to just replace the faulty one with another. Keep the faulty one for spares.
