Hi guys, Now that im only going to collect Japanese Saturn games, I think I might consider getting a Japanese model console. Iv'e heard that you cannot simply plug one in or it will break instantly and that you need some kind of step-down converter? Can somebody please explain what needs to be done? I think I would honestly cry if I bought one and it broke because I killed it

It is nice and easy mate. All you need is a step down power converter. Most auctions on ebay for a Japanese Saturn will come with one anyway, if not they can be bought on ebay for around 6 pounds or go to your local Maplin, thats where mine is from.

uk mains voltage is 230v, japan is 100v, so you need a step down transformer. a more elegant solution would be to buy a uk saturn and swap the psu boards but i don't know if this is possible.
my saturn was region modded when i bought it, thats one alternative, the other is a multi-region bios.

Just to confirm on this one guys... All I need to do is plug the saturn power cord into a stepdown converter (which looks like a small brick) ans thats ALL?
