I have 3 different model 1 PAL Saturns and all of them have that switch location on the board. Early model 2s also have it (VA5), but later ones don't (VA9, VA13 is unconfirmed but probably doesn't have it either).

Lifting the pin is the last thing you want to do when all else has failed. The board has jumper locations (JP1/2) specifically so you don't have to lift the pin. It wasn't designed by idiots.

No, but I want to make one. Lot's of info to gather though. The most complete one I know of is in french. Segakore or something (not satakore).
But basically, what you have to do is: - connect the middle two plugs on SW4 next to the battery - if there is no switch (in NTSC models are late PAL ones), switch JP1/2 around, should be on the bottom near the video output - if that fails for some reason (like you accidentally tore off the connectors), ONLY THEN raise pin79 on the vdp2.
This works on models VA0 to VA5 for sure, I've tested them myself. There are some rumors that on the last, single-board Saturns, you can't mod via jp1/2 for some reason, and I've yet to test that one myself.

It's a VA1 model, and you can just connect the middle two pins on the SW4 mark next to the battery, to turn the machine to 60hz.
Can you make a clear pic of the serial on the back please? It's for a project I'm doing.
