Hi everyone on this forum. I have bought myself a couple of Japanese Saturn consoles, and a couple of these cheap 50W step downs: www.ebay.com/itm/190533654762Also, since I live in Sweden, I got some power plugs. Problem is, as soon as the disc starts spinning, the console stops and then restarts itself. Could it be that the step down does not have enough wattage? However, I thought the step down would get hot if it isn't enough wattage? Or could it be that the Saturn needs more Wattage than what the back of the console says? Or could it have to do with hertz or something else? I have another step down of higher quality that is 100W, and it works just fine.... Thank you.

I DON'T REALLY... have much to say regarding your specific situation, however, if you are using a StepDown transformer in Sweden (which I assume is 220-240V out, like here in the UK?) you need to make sure that your StepDown transforms a 220-240 input to a 110-120 V AC Output to feed into your Saturn/Import Console.
A 50V AC StepDown will not be enough...

There aren't any converters that do 50V AC since that doesn't exist anywhere in the world as a electrical standard. His adapter does AC 110-120V, 50 Watts or so it's quoted. I'd suggest that in actual fact these adapters are falling short of that as is often the case.
So yes, your adapters simply don't have the wattage.

I've been using 35W step-down transformers with the JP and US systems for many years, never had any problems whatsoever. The Saturn should only be pulling around 20W.

My step-down is also 50W rated and works just fine. If your transformer was actually 50W capable it should be enough to power 3 Saturns.

I have been reading up, and I think the problem is I didn't buy a step-down but a converter, which works in a different way not suitable for electronics...
That would explain why it doesn't get hot, the sign it is overpowered.

Same difference, it's just not putting out the wattage it's supposed to.
