Hey guys, bought a white saturn on gumtree recently and its had the power board changed to a UK one, and has been like that for some time, it also shipped with a saturn ntsc to pal converter, this is the first time i've seen one, so i'm guessing back in the day people privately imported via magazines and stuff Has anyone else come across this before Prab

Yes, they don't really convert PAL to NTSC (as that would require refresh rate changes and other trickery outside the power of a cheap little converter box like that, and of course would be unwelcome for video games due to additional lag) what they do is convert the colour carrier in the composite video or S-Video from NTSC to PAL colour space allowing PAL60 compatible TV's to (usually) display a colour picture.
It's fairly useless in this day and age since everyone has RGB SCART now.
