Yeah, I played it years ago, and someone from these forums helped me on one of the puzzles that differs from the PC version [the cog puzzle in the witch/old lady's place]. I'm playing through the game for the 2nd time at the moment, and just started disc 2. It's a lot easier second time round, now I know the answers to most of the puzzles...but first time round, you'll find parts of the game almost broken - i.e. graphics that leave things you should notice and click on, virtually undetectable, without prior knowledge. A hint occurring before a puzzle, that flashes up on screen for only half a second, so you can't see it, and then you can't get back to look at it a second time, as it has auto-saved your game past that point, >_<. Some parts require you to replay the same scenario again and again, until you do exactly what the linear nature requires, - any other choice and you die - although those moments are usually pretty intense and dramatic.
It's a game I acknowledge is bad, I can't recommend...and yet...I love it. ^_^ I love the atmosphere they created, I like the relaxing pace of the point-and-click action, and all of the game's problems - although unforgivable back in the day - can now be addressed by simply turning to online guides when you get really stuck - although this will happen a lot - as there's not a lot of logic to some of the problems you'll encounter, =P.

What's the "prequel" you refer to?

The Saturn version is poor, It makes use of the Saturn's mouse but it's just an extremely long winded game that seems full of poor decisions. It's from that period in time when Myst was super popular & everyone was trying to copy it.

I got Riven, and although I haven't completed it, I loved wandering around all the islands, =D. It was sooo beautiful! Myst on the other hand bored me, I haven't walked past the observatory yet,... it seems sooooo slow, =O. Maybe I'll get into it more someday however.
Atlanis is bad, possibly even terrible. =P. ^_^ But with the help of some online guides, I actually really like it, ^_^, due to the atmosphere, plot, and length of play. But yes, full of bad design/poor decisions!

Just looked up a youtube video review of Lost Eden - looks really good! =) Alas, Atlantis' music isn't anywhere near as good, =(.

I have this game! I love adventure games. I wouldn't recommend it unless you are a lover of adventure games. It works with the mouse too..somewhat, seems a little sluggish with it. I got pretty far, but for whatever reason I never finished it...what a shame, I'll play thru it again sometime but I think I'd rather play one of the Myst games.
