Hi Folks I have been a lurker of these forums for a while so I thought it was high time I signed up. Well I’m an old Sega veteran from the Master system & Mega Drive days, I'm a Sega bloke through and through. In 1995 - 1999 I used to work for Sega as a games tester + worked in many Sega Worlds/Parks up and down the country the best days of my life, I was a very very keen supporter of the Saturn when it came out and pretty much bought every game and accessory every made for the system. Now lol well I’m just a bitter washed up old has been haha who goes around saying stuff like “paaahh! what do kids know with there silly modern games, there not as good as they were in my daaaay” I came out the new gen games industry when Sega announced they were hanging up there joypads for good! , I thought if Sega aren’t making any more consoles then it’s time I called it a day with new gen, I hate Nintendo & Sony and by looking at the current generation of consoles I’m glad I did lol did we ever have red rings of death and the yellow light of death with our Sega machines lol ;D plus the fact there is nothing that interests me on all the current crop, all the games I like playing are on the Mega Drive, Saturn and Dreamcast, I am a 2D fanatic and the best machine for that was the good old Saturn.

Welcome to SS:UK er... Elvis!!? Sounds to me like you had a pretty wild time back in the good old days lol!! Hey. I'm pretty envious I can tell you - I would have loved to have been in your shoes back then!! I visited Sega World on and off in London, mostly to play VF3, I can't imagine how cool it would have been to work there and get to play on the machines - did you get to do that for free? Anyway, hope you enjoy your time here & that you post regularly. Also, do you have any cool stories, photo's or stuff that you'd like to share with us?

Hi elvis, We may of bumped in to each other, may of even talked but none the wiser on names or faces even. I can't remember if it was Earls Court and Olympia when Sega first showed off it's Sega 32X for the 1st time, might of been Sept 94. You had to go up these stairs to a massive platform where they had Doom & Virtua Racing Deluxe running. It might of been another add-on for a Sega machine but those were good times lol. A number of years later when Sega did a one off by using The Empire in Leicester Square for the Dreamcast Premiere... I was there with my Bro first in line to get in after seeing & playing MSR down the road at another show that very day and I got chatting to some guy working for Sega going on about using Amiga's still to do some of the Dreamcast games for menu's and stuff. One of your bosses later invited us as we got chatting in to the press only area where you had Quake 3 running on a 4way link up using the 1st ever DC mouse which looked like a Mac mouse. Still have the ticket for getting in and the old Press Pack CD with artwork, (proper DC covers) of games of that moment inc stuff that never came out like Blank'n'white & Half Life. Best moment of the DC Premiere was seeing the Hornet from Daytona USA roll a cross the screen for the first time, a world first and the whole place went mental crazy over it!!! ;D I remember Trocadero Sega World and it's big 8 player link-up with camera's Datyona USA. I kept winning for about an hour un-defeated, (winner stays on) and I begged for the operator to put Sea Side Street Galaxy on and they kept saying NO haha! 3 or 4 floors of Sega Arcade gaming goodness!! Sega Park is still running just... here in Southampton but as we know it's not really Sega. I once bumped in to Ben Gunstone down here as he lives up the road if you remember him and had a good chat about all things OutRun and a whole lot more he should of never told me. So yeah, if you remember any of that or were part of then cool. Hey, do we blame you for Saturn DOOM as you guys are credited for help and support during production?? Haha! Joking and taking the mickey, what was done was done and too late to worry about that now. Big fan of Sega me self starting when I came face to face with OutRun 1986 the arcade machine. I skipped the Master System as it was easier to pay 10 or 30p per play on the real machines back then. Once the MegaDrive was released tho I never shopped. Even hunted down a pre MegaDrive arcade machine before it launched if you can remember that haha! Yes I'm a no body, but have done a lot of miles and it's been good fun. Nice to see you any way. Cheers, Mike

I never remember Sega World - Although back then there was no internet. I remember playing Sega Rally and Daytona at the Great Yarmouth arcades while on holiday. Me and my brother used to go there, absolutely tons of machines back then - About 10 or so massive arcades.

A friend of mine went there late last year, and this is sadly the case.
