I VOTED: BAHN... but I'll be back later to discuss (off to work now!)

Hmm... I voted for Bahn too. Although it's probably because I had a preference for Akira in VF2 when I first picked up Fighting Vipers. Ever since then, he's always been the character I gravitate to first whenever I fire the game up.

Does anyone have the official release date for this? The site currently has it down as 'Xmas 1996'.

I'm fairly sure the UK print advert mentioned October '96 as the release date for over here, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

Ever since then, he's always been the character I gravitate to first whenever I fire the game up. I THINK I PREFERRED BAHN... because he was a more accessible version of Akira. I've always liked Akira though, just, I didn't find him useful until VF4 era personally.I totally just didn't bother with him in VF2 if I were honest. I always gravitated to the likes of the Bryants, the Chans and Kage (i.e. more traditional characters in terms of style). I VOTED: BAHN... but I'll be back later to discuss (off to work now!) YES. MY FAVOURITE FV CHARACTER... is none other than Bahn himself, although, he's one of three that I use the most. If I was honest, Tokio is actually my 'main' (to use) followed by Bahn then Grace too. But regardless, for me, Bahn is 'the man'. Super, super cool!

Wasn't sure about the whole Pepsi thing in the Japanese version, in a way it kinda spoilt the escapism.
What was Pepsiman like anyway?

I think I used Bahn as well. It's been several years since I've played Fighting Vipers.

My problem with Bahn is the same as Virtua Fighter's Akira, it's so difficult to pull of combos with him. I'm sure he's deadly when mastered though.

Always liked Candy because of her speed and reach with the kick. Raxel was a close second because he could utilize that guitar.
Always thought FV was an underrated game that never seemed to escape Virtua Fighter's shadow. The caged arenas really add a lot more depth to the gameplay, and it's something that would eventually influence Virtua Fighter as well, since starting with VF3 they'd experiment with interactive walls and backgrounds. I was really bummed when FV2 never made it to North America on the Dreamcast, I've always wanted to play it.
