Fighting Vipers 2 had all the great gameplay of the original, but for some reason (probably the meh soundtrack) I never really took to it.

On the subject of Fighting Vipers and its soundtrack, I feel Sega's audio work just hasn't been the same since B-Univ disbanded in 1996... David Leytze was just as good as his former colleagues Koichi Namiki and the legendary Takenobu Mitsuyoshi - I'd love for them to get back together. Sure, there's still Hideki Naganuma and Naofumi Hataya, but what about Tomoko Sasaki or Hirofumi Murasaki? So many great names from the classic era of Sega music need to return!

Sega certainly don't have any memorable melodies in their games anymore, just look at Virtua Fighter 5 and Sega Rally 3

We need B-Univ back, or at least the S.S.T. Band! Honestly, what have the music loving fans had in recent years? Crush 40 and the short-lived (yet unbelievably epic) Segarocks project. Takenobu Mitsuyoshi is mostly remembered as "that Daytona guy," while Jun Senoue was far better when Sega still made new titles in the Victory Goal series. Naturally, your opinion may vary, but I seriously miss the old days... Then again, would Richard Jacques even be able to get away with a soundtrack like the ones he created for Sonic R or Metropolis Street Racer now?

Oh my gosh (@passion track) ^_^, heh.
Anyway - I was wondering whether to get Fighting Vipers or Virtua Fighter 2, and then Fighters Megamix came out! ^_^ So I got that instead, =D. As such, =/....have never played Fighting Vipers, but I voted for Candy anyway - as she was my fav' Fighters Megamix character, =).
