Hi guys, Excuse my abrupt subject but I have an unequivocal deep love for my Sega Saturn which boarders obsessed to the point of a little creepy. Ha, just kidding. But for realsies, I love my Sega Saturn.
I've been buying games for it in the last 6 months as I could never afford to buy the games or console when I was growing up but a friend of mine used to own one and I had fond memories of playing it. It's still as good as I remember and I have bought well over 100 games and continually buying more.
Glad to be here and have someone to share my love. Thanks.

I live in Brisbane, Australia. And I am going for a complete PAL and NTSC set. In the sense that if I have a version of the game, that is good enough for me. I am not collecting potentially 3 copies of a single game (including a Japanese copy too).
I am finding that buying Japanese versions of games are a much cheaper option if I can get away with it. If the game is not text-driven (just about any game that is not an RPG), I will go with the Japanese version unless I pick up a cheap PAL or NTSC copy or if it is a particularly hard to find game in PAL or NTSC priced reasonably. Postage to Australia is expensive enough.
I understand there are going to be moments where my choices are limited to PAL or NTSC and they are both ridiculously expensive like Dragon Force or Alberts Odyssey. But I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
Thanks for your prompt response.

Hehe nice plan u got there oho. When i started collecting the prices where much lower and i thinked that there will be more and more ppl want to collect saturn games in the future so i was prepered that the prices where going up. However becasue the economic crisis now etc i can still find rare titels for a bargain sometimes . But in the end i think that saturn games are going up and up in price every year to come. You can still if your lucky find a nice 100 % complete copy of PDS for under 100£ shipped. But i seen it go for over 300£

My biggest problem is finding $100 to spend on a single game when in my collection still I can buy easily a couple of games for the same price in good condition.
hat is the other thing as well. Finding cases in GOOD condition (especially US releases) seem to be hard and there is no real way of getting empty cases for them unless you just buy a new copy of another game.
Excuse my ignorance, what is PDS?

Panzer Dragoon Saga !!! Belive me it's worth the money if you never played it before AND ONCE AGAIN... the newbie hype begins/is born... I've had a Saturn since 96 (I'd say), own over 100 but under 200 Saturn titles, including most of the shooter worth owning... and have NEVER had the inclination to part with cash, of any sort, for PDS. And, I'm a big fan of the first two. RPG Panzer D just does not appeal to me one bit. Regardless of praise. Regardless of price. I might get one of my RPG loving, non-SEGA or Saturn biased mates to emulate it if possible, and give it a go - and then ask for their honest opinion on this game (all my mates love RPGs, aside me - serious RPG players/collectors I mean - but none are SEGA/Saturn savvy ). Is it emulatable?

I have all 4 discs in ISO format but never played it. And I will one day. Maybe leave it to last (ya know, save the best til last) because I can't see me buying it anytime soon unless I fall into a giant heap of cash that allows me to buy the rest of the Saturn games first.
I like RPGs and I like the first Panzer Dragoon (although I haven't played the second one, yet) so I can only imagine I will like it a lot. But I think to myself that even my favourite game in the world (not sure what that would be mind you) I would not fork out $300 for it.

I believe PDS works nicely in the Saturn emulators and there are even ways of increasing the resolution to make it look nicer. I still played through it on the original hardware though, since we all know emulation likes to do strange things every now and then. Yeah its a good game, rather short though, especially for £100 or more !

I am not collecting potentially 3 copies of a single game (including a Japanese copy too). Sounds very much like my own collection, complete PAL set + US exclusives and US titles that were the only English version + Japanese stuff that isn't included in either of the aforementioned. Welcome, and good luck!

Yeah, that is pretty much it. Although, most of the US exclusives are sports games which makes sense in a way but from what I can tell, most of them look pretty God aweful. Thanks for your response.
