Clockwork Knight, Mr Bones, SCUD, three of my favorites.

Mr. Bones, in my opinion, is the best it's so varied and provides great gameplay as well as a great story! If you have the patience I also recommend Bug, it's pretty funny and provides decent enough gameplay

Flying in circles and getting high scores doesn't really count as a platform game, but I'd still put NiGHTS in that genre, as it reminds me of whizzing around levels in Sonic, and there are platform bits before you take control of NiGHTs.
Likewise, Sonic R is a racing game, but does have platform elements.
Again, Megaman is a platform shooter, not a straight platformer, but I'm a huge Megaman fan, =). Despite the HUGE borders, my fav' on Saturn has been Megaman X3.
Tomb Raider is an excellent 3D platformer, of course, =D. Dark Savior is an isometric action RPG but has a fair few tricky platforming segments!
Hmm...only one of those was actually a platformer [Tomb Raider] so I'll probably shutup and let others give some purer answers. For the record though, I found the controls for Croc really awkward, =P.

I agree that Croc had awkward controls and was unfortunately not as polished as its PS1 counterpart, but it's still a decent platformer completed it 100% a week or so ago

I'm not going to tell you anything anyone else hasn't already:
Mr Bones, Bug (and Bug Too to a lesser degree), Pandemonium (really good game), Burning Rangers, Croc, Bubble Bobble was pretty good, Clockwork Knight 1 and 2, Whizz is on the average side and the Megamans if you can afford them as they are not only rare as hen's teeth but ridiculously expensive (starting at about $80-$90).
I have a game (not sure which one) that on the back of the manual says Croc 2: Coming in 1998. Does anyone know if that ever eventuated? Not necessarily on the Saturn but ANY console? I did enjoy the first one even if it was awkward to control a little (which you get used to pretty quickly).

Croc 2 eventuated on the PS1. I've not played it myself, so I can't comment on its quality.
I agree with what other people said about Croc on Saturn: the controls sucked. I really wanted to love this game, and had I purchased it when the Saturn was still available, I believe I would have persisted with the game, but these days there's much better games to play, so I don't have the patience for it when the controls are dodgy and the camera obscures my view.
I've played the PS1 version and the controls are better, but it still plays a bit iffy.
As for Saturn platformers, I always enjoyed NiGHTS, Pandemonium, Keio Flying Squadron 2, Astal, Clockwork Knight 1 & 2, and Sonic Jam. Megaman X3 isn't bad, but it's essentially the SNES game with a CDDA soundtrack.

I dunno if I could Sonic Jam or not. 4 games you already have a small 3D level? They all play well so technically I have no problems with it really. And all the games are excellent even if they are (mostly) re-hashed titles.
Did you guys know it was released on the game.com? Sounds like there is room there for a good review for it.

Megaman X3 isn't bad, but it's essentially the SNES game with a CDDA soundtrack. ^_^ Yeah, I probably should have mentioned that! Megaman X4 is epic 32-bit goodness, =O. ^_^ But the old skool gamer in me prefers the SNES style X3, ^_^. Keeps it simple, ;-).

Which ones were on the Saturn? X3, X4 and 8? Were there any more that made it?

Stay away from any NTSC version of Sonic Jam. I'm sorry but if you can't get Sonic 2 to run on superior hardware without constant RANDOM slowdown every 30 seconds or so then it's not worth my money. It's not in the PAL version, well it IS, but thanks to the 50hz un-optimised nature the frame rate drop is like a split second so you probably wouldn't notice it.
