Ah you might be OK then, I know my Panasonic in the living room does that, but I've never tried anything on it...
That looks like a very nice set indeed! We're looking at upgrading to a LCD and have seen one we like for £500 but theis has really put the cat amongst the pigeons as a CRT display is gonna be way better (picture-wise) than ANY LCD/plasma on the market today... When does it go on sale? Si

I spotted this TV for £300 in a shop in Stoke-on-Trent. As for it being 100Hz, we played House of the Dead 2 on Dreamcast with a lightgun on a 100Hz widescreen TV and had no problems.

It's a small repair shop by the bus station in Hanley, it's nextdoor to Jafflong curry house.

Infra Red guns, such at the Super Nintendo 'Scope' or the Mega Drive's 'Menacer' which use a reciever placed above your tv might work as they use a totally different targetting system?!

Slighting off topic....- Can anyone suggest a decent lightgun for the original Xbox??? Got HOTD3 but it's unplayable with the crappy third-party gun I recently lauched into the bin. I've heard mad-catz do a decent one. Or perhaps not??

I already have a huge 32" 4:3 Flat Tubed Trinitron, its just taking up so much space, I am informed that that samsung can be set to different refresh rates for each input much like a CRT monitor so theres a good chance it will be ok, I may risk it! I'd check it out before you buy!

Sorry to bring back an old thread but I was wondering if anyone has tried this yet;
As I can't use my Sony HDTV for lightgun games on the saturn, does anyone know if the lightgun would work on a TFT Monitor (say an old 19" Flat Computer Monitor)?
I plan to link my Saturn up to one like this: Saturn --> RGB Cable --> RGB to Component Converter --> Component to VGA Cable --> TFT Monitor
Pretty complicated but has anyone else here used a computer monitor before?

You can't go component to VGA without transcoding. Somewhere in that chain you need to scandouble the Saturns output too, else the TFT Monitor will just choke on it. You need to go Saturn->RGB Cable->RGB to VGA Scaler/linedoubler->Monitor. Use an XRGB3 if you can afford it or a HD Box clone otherwise.
And no, lightguns don't work, sorry.

No they dont, its exactly the same. Its just they dont have a cord, and that is all the infra red is for. There was a thread about this not long ago and i posted up a heap of info on how these guns work on a CRT. They will also work on CRT video projectors, cause i use a few different guns on mine:
