Can they be made to work? Or do I have to play Virtua Cop in the attic?

I have no experiance of this, I can tell you for certain they work on a rear projection HD as Ive played VC and Area 51 on one.

I was wondering this too, as last time I tried my light gun on my lcd tv it didnt work. Wasn't sure if my gun was just faulty or if they can't be used with lcd.

I've never been able to get one to work on a LCD tv. I have to play Virtua Cop on this little tiny crappy tv.

I thought there was only a problem with TV's with 100hz refresh rates?

Pass, have a look in your TV manual. The problem with 100hz TV's is the picture refresh rate is too fast for the gun. Most TV's are eith 50 or 60hz. I've yet to try any gun games with my LCD.

I'd have thought they would work. House of the Dead 4 in the arcade has LCD tv for it and that uses a light gun, so why not. Hmmm, just a thought though. Maybe thats a Plasma screen and Light Guns will work on them but not LCD ones Bloody hell am all confused now

Today's guns do not have the same technology as guns from the past. The Saturn guns need a standard TV at 50-60Hz. With 100Hz TV and new types (LCD, Plasma,...), the Saturn guns will not work

That TV will be 100hz Mick! Won't work brother!! Get a good second hand TV is your best bet if you're a gun game head...
I bought a 25inch Sony trinitron from Cash Converters for £30 had it two years never any problems it was pretty brand new too! Except it didn't have a plug... probebly from when the heroin addict picked it up and ran with the plug is still in the wall!! Those crazy junkies!!!
The guns on the HOTD4 Cab are similar to a Wii-mote with a motion sensor actually inside the gun, this is the only way new gun games (home or arcade) will work with modern televisions...
I hear on the grape vine that the Wii and PS3 will be getting a 'HOTD Collection' with all 4 games! Which will be great as we'll finally have a decent home version of the first game... I wish Sega would do a 'Sega Shooting Gallery Collection' and put 'Lost World' and the crazy underwater shooting game on, I loved those games

I already have a huge 32" 4:3 Flat Tubed Trinitron, its just taking up so much space, I am informed that that samsung can be set to different refresh rates for each input much like a CRT monitor so theres a good chance it will be ok, I may risk it!
