its sad really, maybe if there where a real sonic game on the saturn it would have sold more. sonic x-treme should have been released it mite have saved the Saturn, i know that if a real sonic game had come out i would have bought a Saturn to play it at the time.

Sadly I don't think Sonic X-treme would ever have worked that well on the Saturn. The machine wouldn't have handled the draw distance required for the speed of a sonic game. SEGA still haven't properly sorted out a 3D sonic game, Dreamcast's Sonic Adventure remains the best. I think the Saturn would have struggled in the market even with a Sonic game. The machine died cos there was not enough third party support, undoubtedly this was SEGA's own fault. The machine was difficult to develop for, and third parties were not offered the support they needed.

Sadly, the reason the Saturn failed was the decision to use 2 processors. Everything else stems from that........but thats what makes it cool, while it may have been a fledgling in 3D terms it was the peak of 2D. In my eyes the Saturn was a massive success, but I dont judge on sales, otherwise I'd be rating Girls Aloud etc...... I question the "pop" tastes of the masses! Today I will mostly be playing Souky and RS. Also Ikaruga on GC, been playing this a lot recently, trying to get back into it........not a game you can leave for 6 months then 1C it first go.

Panzer Dragoon Saga, been replaying through it. I still find the battles in this to be more enjoyable than any other RPG. Being able to fly around whilst waiting for your meter to fill really was a great idea

Virtua Fighter 2, great game but one thing annoys me, well maybe two- jeffry and wolf. It's just punch, throw and stomp and youre k.o.'ed...

Man today I was kicking arse at Galaxy Fight! I love the game more and more everyday. I managed to one credit the entire game up to Feldon (the last boss) by beating guys with more than half the timer left and almost full health (huge accomplishment for me since I don't play fighting games) as Roomi but then Feldon beat me and... :/ oh well. I almost had him. I had to get one more hit on him and I woulda won... hate it when that happens!!
I like it though. Very good game for someone who's new to the fighting game genre who prefers 2D over 3D. Though the AI is a little overkill until you learn how to dodge and block effectively. My brother was trying it today and he had a REALLY hard time getting past the first guy. Second guy came along and he gave up. :/ Kinda how I started with the game but I didn't give up. >:D The soundtrack rocks too hard!!
My brother likes it though and so do I. I recommend it to someone who hasn't played very many fighting games. There are better ones for sure, but it's a nice little gem nonetheless. I might write a review on it in the future.

Until Darius Gaiden and Layer Section arrive I think I'm going to mainly be playing Nights and Sega Rally. I only got Nights this morning but so far I'm loving it, the controls are wonderfully fluid and the graphics are truly excellent for the Saturn. ;D
