Gameplay will always best graphics. That being said, i tend to be drawn to 2D games. That is one of the reasons why i love the Saturn. The 2D on the Saturn is pretty much perfected, more or less. The 3D...not so much. Good 2D will always age better than bad 3D.

That's quite difficult to say. 2D is more common, but 3D effects add depth, so it looks more immersive for the players which provide better user experience and users' loyalty.

A shame Regalsin is banned, he always had amusing anecdotes on this topic I have to say, sprites will always look better than polygons to my eyes. As time goes on, and polygon graphics do whatever they are doing, getting more realistic and so on. No phase of polygon graphics looks as cool as sprites. I like polygon games a lot more than I did when I made that initial post though, love a bit of half life etc… The 7th gen appeals to me, I like the “ still looks like a video game) aesthetic. and that’s where it ended for me tbh. Never bought a a console after the 7th gen, still have 2 360s (jp and pal ) and a wii. Bought every fps ( loads that I still haven’t played even now that were a couple of quid) and also every decent driving game available on pal 360 ( every jp shmup as well) and loved the motion controls for gun games on wii, so own all those, sin and punishment 2 was ace. I liked the GameCube as well. Tbh I feel gameplay hasn’t evolved much since that generation, if at all. I’m still buying games for pce md and famicom/snes though, and maybe a few Saturn games, but I’ve got all the best ones already. Guess I just love arcade style games a lot, no apologies. And tbh, only just getting into classic sprite based rpgs in a big way. 😂 I still think it’s 1994.
