Been struggling with work today, so while I was trying to figure what to write I sat looking at a tatty mk2 JPN pad and my standard PAL version and so did this... I'm quite pleased, looks good I think.

And the flipside: I might swap the grey buttons into the black pad, not sure yet...

I have a similar set-up on my 'alpha' Playstation SEGA Saturn controller: It's basically the white controller, but I swapped out ONLY the ABC buttons with the charcoal grey ones out of a broken Grey Japanese Saturn pad. It looks good. I'm not keen on the ABC colours in the Black controller though, if I'm honest, although, I think that All Black (PAL) controllers with JUST the shoulders & start buttons as pink look rather smart The combinations are endless!

Black controller looks gay and like something out of a sweat shop. Those colour buttons don't suit BLK for me. Your JPN, JAPAN or JAPANESE as we say around these parts controller looks awesome tho. Really looks current as if this is the new white for the next wave of devices to hit the market.

Edit: I read that as sweet, not sweat, hence my comment. I really must get my brain in gear...

Hehe I always wanted to grab a JPN Nights pad and put the colour buttons in the PAL BLK one... Now I've seen it in theory I've changed my mind lol. Maybe a PAL MK2 pad with only the Start Button changed to the red/pink would be cool tho. The blue is nice on the original grey as that's classic Sega so would look nice in a BLK pad.

Wow, I really like the white one with black buttons! I guess I should try to do something like that one day!

Looks good. I wonder if those Saturn-shaped USB controllers on eBay might be a good source of custom buttons. Been thinking about buying one for the Ouya - I only use it for emulation and the Ouya pad does nothing for me...

Plastic in the Retrolink Saturn USB pads sold on ebay is of lower quality, you can tell the moment you touch it. I got one and swapped the guts into a proper Saturn pad to make a PC Saturn pad. I didn't check the A,B,C X,Y,Z but the L,R buttons are not interchangeable, the spacing is slightly different.

Yeah I can attach the rubber bits to make the L & R standard saturn buttons work. But my poorly worded point was that sitting the ko L & R in the genuine saturn pad case didn't work. Didn't fit properly. Do you know if the abcxyz are easy swaps?

Looks really nice, just a shame the cart slot is more than likely going to be full of cartridge for most people.
