Can I ask why it is I have had a custom title added that states "Generated 30 posts in 1hr to gain marketplace access! *Post count revoked*"
To be honest I find it quite disappointing that I have had that branded on my account as a newcomer, without any liaison with a site admin.
To be honest if marketplace access is such a issue of trust with this community it would be more prudent to enforce a time period restriction of say a month or so of active weekly use to ensure a user is accessing the site for genuine reasons. This, I feel would be better than essentially making people feel unwelcome and insulted and essentially labelling genuine people with a love for the Saturn as categorically having accessed the site just to buy or sell things.
I have a couple of close friends who are Saturn fans in Cleethorpes local to myself who I have gained a strong friendship with over a period of time due to our mutual interest in the Saturn platform. If in our early acquaintance when they each introduced me to their Saturn collections they had stated I was only being friendly to take their Saturn collection from them in a similar way to what you have done by cruelly branding my profile, then our friendship would never have developed to what it is today.
So finally if you wish to revoke access to the marketplace for myself, fine, but please take as a subject lesson people whether online or otherwise will not accept and take kindly to being branded as dishonest and have their motives questioned without having the human decency of at least communicating directly with them, or at least getting to know them a little better.
Thanks.

Sorry, but what you're saying is illogical. The sites admins can't possibly be expected to "get to know" individual members of the site. ( certainly not in a matter of hours ) When one writes 30 posts in one hour that is regarded as suspicious behaviour. That is nothing personal. The moderators have every right of doing so.
You can write all the personal history you want. I am not saying you ARE a bad person or have bad intentions. However, revoking access to the marketplace is a logical action that would have happened to anyone, given these actions.
It took me 2 to 3 weeks to reach 30 posts ( just one day after I joined it was upped from 20 to 30 ) and only many months after did I actually buy something from the marketplace. Now maybe you are just more active and maybe there is is a lot more interesting items for sale now, so this doesn't say much. However I'd just stick around a be a bit more patient. Acting all "hurt" shouldn't get your postcount back anyway.
BTW I am not a moderator on this site, this is just another members view.

Oh and one more thing: The first 10 of your posts being consisting only of "HI" or something simular doesn't really help your case either.

I'm afraid I have to strongly disagree, what I'm saying is not illogical, what I'm saying is this, I agree Admins revoking access to any or all of the site is their right, and the marketplace should have some sort of restriction in place for new members to stop abuse of the system and well meaning members who are genuinely trying to sell to honest Saturn users, and to dissuade ebay resellers. What is unnecessary is placing a custom message directly on that persons profile stating that that was their purpose in accessing the site as a fact when they can not possibly know that to be the case, what would have been more appropriate is stopping my access to the marketplace if there was a perceived problem, and a friendly message from admins advising me that my posts and access were revoked as they felt my post count was too high in a short space of time. I can appreciate that you personally may have taken some time to post that amount. But a member shouldn't have to necessary feel they can only make limited posts in a time period or suffer being branded as a dishonest person. And with respect I am not acting hurt nor do I want my post count reinstated, I am actually offended with the judgmental custom title itself, not the marketplace revocation. Of course I am going to have a look at the marketplace if it is open to me, however if the time period is a problem more than actual post count then as I suggested a months probationary period would be more fair than penalising and insulting frequent posters who are excited to discover there are still many people interested in the Saturn community.

Named and shamed !!!
Welcome to the forum. I agree with you, not quite sure why a private message couldn't have been used rather than a cattle brand to the forehead. Does this site get so much traffic that we need a public execution to keep the others in line?

Unfortunately Magnox, I was the person you "dashed" too with your Marketplace requirements via PM (albeit, small ones) but, unbeknownst to you, I'm afraid I have a bit of a reputation around this forum for frowning very heavily on, what I would class as post spamming to increase your post count to create market access.
As a Moderator of the site, it's my job to do what is necessary to protect the interests of the site and it's members (including yourself) from PPL who discover us and then use such tactics to take advantage of what has just been laid out before them. I apologise that you took offense to my actions regarding your (imo) rather obvious behaviour (re: as Savaroth has already noted... "Hi" repeatedly in into threads to boost post count) however, although the "branding" was rather public, it was more of a caution tbh.
I have since removed your 'custom title', however, the post count will remain reset as, in principal, I still feel that the post count was spammed in order to gain access to our marketplace here. You are not the first to receive such "treatment" and, unfortunately, due to the initial motives of some PPL (i.e. our prices for our forum members vs marketplace prices via eBay etc), you shalln't be the last.
You ARE RIGHT that there should be (also) be a time limit restriction on market access too. I'll discuss this with the site Administrator, see what he thinks. I'll use these circumstances as reference.
I look forward to your new perspective (I hope) on becoming a valued member of this community and earning your access to our Saturn marketplace in a more steady and stable fashion.
As soon as you respond/we can out this behind us, I shall be happy to delete this thread...

LOL No, but what a great idea Seriously tho, Magnox was caught trying to circumvent rules that were patently obvious and apply to all. It was dealt with and we should all dry our eyes and move on. I'm actually in favour of banning spammers, cheats and general piss-takers. My very good friend NGN is more lenient than me.

Thanks loads for your reply to the thread and for removing the custom title NeoGeoNinja I can appreciate why you would feel the need to remove the post count, and respect that, as I mentioned it wasn't the marketplace removal that bothered me it was just the rather public banner to my name of how you perceived my motives for joining the site and posting. Thanks again

I'm sorry, but no I wasn't caught circumventing any rules, you perceive that to be true but it does not make it so. If I posted 30 times on a thread with "hi" and then directly trying to buy everything in sight on the marketplace I could fully appreciate that for being a blatant and obvious attempt to get one over on the well meaning community. For anyone with any reasonable intelligence they would not for one make a request of an obvious forum mod if they though they were doing something wrong, nor if I wanted to make a profit on ebay would I choose Die Hard Arcade as my choice, as Guardian Heroes is much more likely to get a decent profit on ebay. So I would ask that you refrain from stating facts that you cannot prove or know to true. As a forum moderator I would expect your treatment of site users new or not to be reasonable as Neo's post was above.
