I got another Saturn recently, it seems to be in good working order....except, I cant get any video or audio. the 'no signal' goes away when its powered on, but there's nothing there sadly.
im using the red/white/yellow regular ol' composite. its one of the same ones I use on a Saturn I regularly use, so ive already ruled out a faulty cable. I dismantled it, inspected solder joints all over the board, and triple checked around the rear left section of the mainboard around where the av stuff is at. it all looked good. I put a confirmed working psu, just in case that's what it was. regreased the gears with lithium and cleaned the laser finally reassembled the unit.
still have no luck, ive got signal, but no audio or picture. disc spins, but just a constant lazy hum drum spin, not a im reading this cd kind of spin
so what could be the issue with this Saturn? any advice would be great, thanks in advance

Read the original post, a SCART cable isn't going to help if he's not getting any picture or sound at all via his composite cable.
Personally I would say it is dead, Zyrobs might have some ideas though.

Sounds to me that it is dead, shame about it being a skeleton. I've had a lot of Saturns die like that, suddenly decide that they don't boot up. There can be thousands of things causing that, unless some service manuals state how to troubleshoot and repair them (the ones we have to not), we'll never be able to figure out how to fix those.

yeah, I agree, I think its just dead. I tried taking the laser assembly out of another Saturn (board and all) and hooked it up in the skeleton, still got nothing. r.i.p

Get a working JP unit cheap, maybe a horrible yellowed one and swap everything out.
