Has anyone played either Actua Golf or Tennis? And if so, what is the general consensus. I wanna know if they're worth bumping up the list to play as I am trying to get some games to review that are going to be positive. Just going through my list of upcoming reviews and with titles like The Crow, I need some positivity.

I think all of the 'Actua' games all feel extremely wooden.
I always wanted to like Actua Soccer, but just couldn't.
Why not review something like Street Racer? I think its a little under-rated and its cheap too.

I can't imagine any Actua game meriting any kind of positive review. Sorry. They are awful now, and always seemed awful "back-in-the-day".

It was in the first batch of 8 games I bought back in 2009. Never played it but the plan was to sell it and buy a better copy as mine didn't have a manual and the cover was at the very best, dog shit. So I sold it with a bunch of other games and when I went to buy it again, I became broke just before I got the opportunity to and have been ever since. The cost of living where I am is insanely high so having a house and a child chews up most of my paycheck only to have the remainder spent on bills. I do plan on getting the game back again, but as far as I can see, that won't be until next year.

I seem to remember playing a demo of Actua Golf on the PS1 and thinking it was alright, despite feeling that golf is a stupid idea for a videogame or a real life sport.
As for Actua Soccer, well I think I have "Euro 96 - England" which is based on the same engine, and its pretty crappy compared to the Pro Evo, Fifa and ISS games of the same era.
Street Racer I thought was a decent effort at emulating Mario Kart (on the 16 bit consoles), I really liked the SNES version. The 32 bitters seemed to be a bit lacklustre by the time they came out though a couple of years later. Looked a bit old hat when alongside the likes of Ridge, Daytona and Sega Rally.

I had a copy of Actua Golf. It might have played OK but I can't remember as the game looks as rough as a badger's arse. And that was my impression of it over 15 years ago….

I've said this before somewhere, either on this forum or elsewhere **Searches** Here: segasaturngroup.proboards.com/post/73441/threadAnd here: segasaturngroup.proboards.com/post/100124/threadBasically... I have owned Street Racer on PS1, SAT, SNES & MD simultaneously. The SNES version was, by far, the best version. It just played infinitely better than the other versions. The 32-bit versions just felt off. Nothing to do with being released at an off time (re: Ridge Racer & Daytona). They just weren't as good to play as the SNES versions. As for the MD version, that just played more like a copy of Lotsu Turbo Challenge or Outrun as opposed to having the 'fully 3D' environment sf the SNES and 32-bit counterparts. As for Actua Golf... I used to have it for PS1 back in the day and I thought it was decent, personally.
