I've always fancied having one of those Bomberman multitaps so I finally stumped up the cash to get one. After it arrived, I finally decided to test my existing third-party Saturn multitap and all the controllers I have. I used Sega Rally to test the contollers and about half of them caused trouble (inconsistent/sticky shoulder buttons, some buttons not working), so I'm going to clean all the contacts and then open any of them that have a physical issue that I can see or hear.
However, when I tried the ones that were working in the two multitaps I now have (I had visions of 10-player Bomberman!), the results were worse and not consistent. Sometimes controllers weren't recognised when they were in certain ports but others did and I wasn't about to even get a 7-player setup using the multitap and the available port on the console. When I set up a game using one multitap and then switched over to the other, some controllers were now working while others stopped. There's no end to the combination of controllers or ports used so I'm wondering - other than cleaning the ports all round, any other advice to solve my issues?
And what is the best cleaner to use with the cotton buds?

Just trying to get a clear vision here... are BOTH multi-taps having an issue?
