Hi Folks
I just signed up and want to know if anyone can shed some light on this issue. I have a UK sega saturn model 2 modded with a 50/60hz switch and it has a region selector on it as well. I have never had any problems with controllers in the past light guns, arcade stick, 3d pad, I even have a number of japanese this is cool pads which work fine. However I bought a japanese mission stick and the saturn will not recognise it. The best I can get is on panzer dragon zewi where the start button will skip the intro but after that it will cease to function. All other games the stick will not work at all. Has anyone encounter problems with a mission stick before and are there known issues to do with it and modded saturn? Any help would be most welcome.
Thanks slicer1000

Sounds like a problem with the stick itself. My Mission Stick has never had the issues your experiencing. Could be a loose wire or connection preventing communication between the system and the stick. I'd recommend opening it up if your handy with a soldering iron. If not... I hope you didn't pay too much for the stick.

I don't have a mission stick, but as far as I know all the accessories should work on all regions (no matter if it's modded or not). Really seems like it's something wrong with the stick :/

Mine has a region switcher and a 50/60hz switch, this is the second stick I've had with the same problem. As the stick was tested and confirmed working before sending, I trust the seller very highly and I'm begining to think that the issue may be with my Saturn or the mod to it. Is your mission stick the Japanese or USA version? As the builds are quite a bit different and the Japanese version has extra buttons.

I have a dark grey Japanese stick and have used it for years without issue on both PAL and NTSC systems, though neither have mod switches installed in them. I'm sure the person you bought the stick from was trustworthy but there's always the possibility it received a hard knock while on its way to you, causing internal damage. If it is some previously unknown compatibility issue with switch modded PAL systems then I'm not sure I know how to correct such a problem. Have you tried using it with an unmodded PAL console?

Thanks RealBlue sounds like you have the same mission stick as me, in that case it may well be either of the two mod switches on the Saturn that are causing the issue. So I'll have to try and find or buy a cheap umodded Saturn to test on.

Have you tried cleaning the connector? I've got a virtua stick once that was listed as junk, but it only had contact problems and no other problems.

First thing I did was clean then and the internal Saturn ones, I currently have two stick and both have the same issue leading me more to believe it's mod related.

As an update finally got it to working in the end, even after buying a cheap unmodded model one unit it still didn't work. One stick is well and truly dead but the other one now works.
In the end I just kept cleaning both the stick and the Saturn's internal connectors till they where spotless. It appears that even a tiny bit of dusty can block the Mission Sticks input. There also an issue with the Saturn internal connectors can get pushed down and not make contact with the mission stick connectors.
In short the mission stick is super sensitive to any dusty and even a slight amount on either connectors will cause it not to function correctly.
