I decided to order one of these as the raw output via RGB SCART on an HDTV is enough to make the eyes bleed. I'm not expecting miracles but it should ease the pain a bit if some of the feedback I've seen is to be trusted.
Wondering what the deal is with a male-to-male SCART connector though. I went through the expense of ordering a nice quality cable for my Saturn, i'd rather not end up twatting the quality with a crap pass-through between the SLG and my TV. Most of my searches though result in cables which cost 2.99 with "ALL 21 PINS CONNECTED" and after reading some of Zyrobs posts i'm a little dubious about the spiel used and what I actually need.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I wouldn't bother with one to be honest, the scanlines they produce aren't anywhere near accurate. It's by far the worst received Arcadeforge product, a novelty item at best.

It's something I fancied trying out before I decide on whether or not an XRGB mini is worth the outlay. I've looked into a few other solutions, and I can't be doing with some of the setups suggested. If it was just me and the Saturn it would be fine but it's a matter of making room for daisy chained connections aplenty around an already crowded space.

Just do not think that this thing will in any way shape or form compare to an XRGB.

Just do not think that this thing will in any way shape or form compare to an XRGB. I don't, I'm not delusional. I've looked through several of your blogs, over on shmups and the NeoGeo forums among other sites. There's a reason it costs like £200 and not £20.

I'd have to agree with Buckoa51, keep that 20 quid in your pocket. Having so many connections can't possibly be good for image quality.

It's not the number of connections that's the issue (not sure where you're getting that from) it's that you can't actually overlay scanlines onto a 240p image with any kind of accuracy. You only get 120 scanlines on a 240p signal and what your TV eventually does with it depends on how it handles 240p signals.
Just as long as you understand it's a novelty really, honestly it can still be better than nothing.

This is what I meant, wasn't factoring the scan lines.

Well sure if you use cheap cables or dodgy switches yes, but you don't HAVE to use cheap cables/switches with the SLG, but there's no getting around its inherent design problems.

Well I've got it and tested it out, albeit on a single game but what it does isn't THAT bad but then again it isn't that great either. I imagine the results will favour different games but it adds what I can only describe as a red-ish hue to the whole image the more you amplify the scan lines. Could be a fault with the unit or an inherent side effect of a dirty approach to a SLG.
You also get bars rather than lines on bigger displays but there yah go, i'll probably play with it some more at a later date.
