I did it slightly differently a while back. I got a JPN Saturn HST-0004 from ebay, which I swapped the PSU with a working PAL one and swapped the motherboard from my PAL one to NTSC. I now play at 60Hz with no Step down converter.

Sweet! But I doubt I'd be able to swap motherboards etc. Interested in the process you took for getting that to happen though

Yeah, plug and play, if you just want a UK power supply.Just make sure you get the right power supply for your motherboard. There are so many revisions that some power supplies won't fit. Check the numbers on the back of the console. The first number is the year it was made the second is the revision. Then find a PAL console with the same revision number and swap them out.
