I have to finish PDS. I'm not sure why I haven't. It's one of the best RPGs I've ever played and one of the prettiest Saturn games ever. Probably the best looking. I guess I just know once it's over it's over. Once it's completed I won't have anything to look forward to. The game has been hyped forever for me and it's absolutely lived up to that hype. I even played an hour or two of it on a Saturn emulator 4-5 years ago before shutting it off, because I wanted to play it on Saturn.

There are quite a few games I'm really looking forward to playing before I ship off later this year.
For one, I'm definitely looking forward to finally being able to play Enemy Zero. The game has peaked my interest for years now and I made two different forum topics on the game. I got it in great condition for $4. A steal of a price and just waiting for it to arrive within the next week. It may be the Japanese version but I believe that I can manage for the most part.
I'm also looking forward to delve more into the Super Famicom library of games. I've only bought the Japanese versions of the Demon's Crest and Super Mario World (WAY cheaper than trying to obtain American copies). The next on my list to play are Super Metroid and Super Castlevania 4 as I've loved the sequels to these games but never got a chance to play these ones.
Lastly in terms of newer generation, I'm actually really looking forward to playing Final Fantasy 15. It has been a dream for me to play an open-world fantasy action rpg set in more modern times, and FF15 is doing that perfectly so far. I just hope that I will not be let down as Square Enix has been known to do great trailers and but not have the best game. But since it does play akin to a slower paced Kingdom Hearts I can say that the gameplay is good from the demo thus far. With some minor tweaking the gameplay will be on point.

Congratulations on finally purchasing Enemy Zero. I was one of a few that responded to your original thread regarding Enemy Zero, glad to see you've finally got it. One of the best experiences you can have on the Saturn. I have to say if I'd known you were planning on buying the Japanese version I would have told you not to bother. You won't manage very far in the game if you don't know what the other characters are trying to tell you. Like Burning Rangers, Enemy Zero contains voice directives, some locked up in the FMV and some in the actual gameplay where certain characters tell you where to go next. If you don't know whats going on you won't progress. Enemey Zero is all about the EXPERIENCE. The perfect musical score by Michael Nyman, the story (though not original) is beautifully told, the characters are fantastically acted, the gameplay is great.....I could go on and on. But if I were you I'd get yourself a US or PAL release of the game instead. Watching youtube clips or referring to game guides for a translation source are fine for certain games but for a game like Enemy Zero that would totally WRECK the experience. I don't know if anyone else whose played the english version would agree with me but I would seriously reconsider playing the JPN version but it's your choice at the end of the day just hope you enjoy the game.

I still have a few Japanese imports that I haven't even touched yet. But I'm planning on getting a few of the girly-fighter games and maybe a few cheaper shoot-em-ups and Panzer Dragoon. I just got Pretty Fighter X, so I'm off to a good start.

Yeah I remember those responses. I can understand why I should get the English version as my Japanese is not that fluent at the moment. After reading your passion for the game I will still pursue in getting the English release as it seems that I need to truly immerse myself within the game to really enjoy playing it. I can think off getting the Japanese version of Enemy Zero as the appetizer for what's to come whenever I do end up getting the English version. And also Michael Nyman had some great scores I tell you. Same with Ian McDonald.

The year's about half over, so how about a check-in to report on how you're doing on your play list? I'm at 0 for 7 so far. But I'm going to get started on it tonight, honest! I'm really looking forward to Tomb Raider (I do have a bad feeling that my experience with it may be similar to SpanishAdam's, but that doesn't make me any less eager to give it a try), but I think I'll go for my replays of D and Burning Rangers first, as those two won't take nearly as long to get through.

I've played D+D and come to the realization that it's better than my previous favourite scrolling beat em up Streets of Rage 2. The only thing that would have made it better would be a 4 player mode. I've also been somewhat fortunate in being able to obtain Marvel vs Capcom, Dondonpachi and Soukyugurentai. There's only a handful of Saturn games left I feasibly want to obtain. The only game I feel really annoyed about not being able to obtain is Grandia due to the fact it's in Japanese. Don't know why a translation patch for the game hasn't been released yet given that there is already an English equivalent on the PSX.

I actually prefer it being only 2 player, as I have a feeling 4 player would have meant less enemies to pound as I doubt whether the Saturn version would have also doubled the AI body count which would have decreased the fun factor. A perfect 9/10 of a game. The only thing that stops it from getting full marks and giving it the edge over Guardian Heroes is the unlimited continues and lack of save points other than that it's all good. Which D & D do you prefer, Tower of Doom or Shadow Over Mystara? As for Grandia, just use the online translations scripts, I'm currently doing that with Grandia and I'm more than half way into it and the experience hasn't been hampered at all. I did the same with Wachenroder and Princess Crown which was also a great experience.

I'm still only about 1/3 of the way through Princess Crown, but I find the language a barrier to being able to play though the game. I keep hearing about a translation patch for it, which I hope will arrive in the not too distant future.

linkt101 and sychPersonally, I prefer Warriors of Fate 2 > D&D series, for the Saturn specifically. SOR2 is a great Beat Em Up, but I'd say almost ALL of Capcoms Beat Em Ups are actually better games.

For me, the games I am looking to get a hold of before the year is out are:
D Sonic R SOTN Story of Thor 2 Silhouette Mirage
I have played Sonic R on GCN (love it), and I've played SOTN on the 360, so I know I will love those two. The other 3 are unknowns, but they seem pretty cool.
Also, if I have the cash at the end of the year, I may treat myself to Deep Fear. Maybe.

I love Warriors Fate and used to share that preference of it over D & D but the lack of leveling up can make it seem a bit repetitive at times but it's still a solid game.
