Hello guys, I'm a Sega Saturn addicted, well honestly I actually like more retrogaming than current systems, and the Saturn is my favourite console. I started the Saturn collection in the early 2000's when I bought the Blue Skeleton, the last model made by SEGA (nice to see that I paid for it 200 euros back then and after more than 10 years the price didn't drop ) I have been always fond of japanese games, so the choice was simple considering how good games were published in Japan. Also I really love the combo cd+spine-card from Japan so when I started my collection I decided that all my Saturn games should have had the spine-card. 3 years ago I moved to Japan so now I live in Tokyo, which had helped me a lot to improve my collection. Actually I have more than 300 games, a small part of them is still in my own homecountry, but I'm planning to bring them all here when I'll travel there. Well, Saturn apart, I have a good collection of PS2 games, DC, GC,GBA, Xbox360 which was the last home heaven for SHMUP's; since I moved to Japan I also expanded my PS1 collection (don't ask me, of course all of them have the spine-card ) I also sell games on the internet, principally on ebay (more than 140 positive feedbacks), but also on other ways (forum, social networks and so on). Hope to have a good time with all you Saturn lovers

You might find a lot of people here wanting to make friends! Nothing quite like having a contact in Japan when it comes to retro game collecting!!!

It's sad to think about it and comparing to nowadays ah, as all you probably noticed english is not my first language, so pardon my errors

Your English reads pretty good to me.
I'm a big fan of Japanese developed gaming so like you I'm pretty sad the way gaming has gone. It's great that Western gaming is very strong but it's sad that Eastern gaming isn't as strong as it was.

Welcome to the forum.
So you live in Japan, but where are you from originally?

It's great that Western gaming is very strong but it's sad that Eastern gaming isn't as strong as it was. yeah, and what I don't understand is when people say "look, in the latest years western developers have surpassed japanese ones" and clearly they forget how many good games western developers made in the 80's, i mean C64, Speccy (always behind ehehehe), Amiga I don't think western were better than japanese or viceversa, it's just that recently japanese developers have lost that inventive, originality, which was at the peak during PS1-PS2 times and had its swansong during DS. And if I can make an example, Akihabara is the perfect place to enlighten this "decadence" : my first trip in Japan was in 2003 and everytime I went there I literally spent hours looking for games; now I live in Tokyo since Jan.2013 and I rarely go there, a lot of shops closed, the left ones have few games and expensive (I'm talking about retrogaming of course), outside the streets are filled by chinese and other far-est asian people going there to buy electronic products, the most whished is the rice cooking, probably because it's one of the last product which still has the "made in Japan" label you know the kind of game which mostly comes out for Vita ? girls with short skirt, dressed like maid... that's how Akihabara looks today, and that's so depressing thanks for your praise about my english, I'll try to do my best Welcome to the forum. So you live in Japan, but where are you from originally? I'm from Italy

Hi Moor-Angol. Welcome to SSUK! Nice to have you aboard Nice to hear you have a place for the Saturn & PS1. They're both mighty machines with great libraries - Japanese and Euro!

Thanks for welcoming me. And I have place for all platforms with 2D games, which I truly love And I agree with you, there a plenty of games released in UE (and US too) which never came in Japan, someday I have to start searching for them, I have the feeling I'm missing some gems....
