I've just dragged my Saturn out of retirement and thought I'd sign up. Currently using a PAL Saturn (the same one I've since buying new) with 4mb AR upscaled to 60hz via a scart to HDMI upscaler. Mostly interested in platformers, arcade driving games and 2D fighters. I also really enjoy the Saturn ports of Doom and Duke Nukem.

Doom on Saturn is spelt: Q U A K E Welcome by the way. Small tip: Putting the sound in Mono for Saturn Doom will make the game run a little smoother, it also fixes sound bugs that you may of heard from playing it in stereo.

Saturnal greetings to you. How does that 60Hz upscaler work?

Saturnal greetings to you. How does that 60Hz upscaler work? Hi Shinra, unfortunately (and although less than ideal) I only have a modern TV with HDMI input at the moment so I have to use a scart to hdmi converter. As part of the upscale process you can chose whether to output in 50hz or 60hz. I'm not sure how this works along with playing import games on the AR but *seems* to play pretty good.

Welcome to the boards! Good to hear from someone else who enjoys Saturn Doom. It's technically inferior to the PlayStation version, of course, but very enjoyable on its own terms. And there are certainly plenty of those platformers, arcade driving games and 2D fighters on the Saturn.

It's only enjoyable on Saturn if your ignorant to every other version of Doom out there. Either that or this...
