I voted NFS, sad they didn't port the second one (the best) on saturn. Anyon tested Power Drift? the port seems good but I don't know if it is fun (which means are controls OK?) It's fun for a quick blast now and then, but once any goal is complete your less likely to go back to it than say OutRun 1986. As a port it runs at 30fps. The arcade music which "was" ace is annoying loud though and kinda forces you to go with the updated remix CD music instead. Thankfully the remix tunes are ace as well. You can add Galaxy Force II to the list, if the price is right then they are worth a look if they take your fancy but not necessarily games your keep going back too time and time again. They are once in a blue moon type games. Truth be told though your get more miles out of Super Hang-On for Wii, 3DS, PS3, XBOX360. That's if you haven't checked it out already.

Other. Scorcher. Easily, easily, Scorcher. It had excellent graphics, a great art style, dope music, and moderate difficulty. It reminds me of Sonic Generations a little since you have to collect orbs to power up your jump and turbo mechanic. It's basically a racer/platformer in many respects. Yeah. Scorcher is WAY up there for me too. However, I always hit these topics with a 'Desert Island/ Prison' mentality where you will only have (in this instance) SEGA Rally and and another racer to play, indefinitely. On that basis I always gravitate to the other game I would most like to play, exclusively, long-term. As much as I ADORE Scorcher and it's right up there for me, it wouldn't be my 2nd Desert Island/Prison title It's an amazing game though and horribly underrated/overlooked. I tried to get PPL into it back in one of our Community Playthroughs *gulp* years ago, however, most PPL just found the difficulty of the game too steep. Shame because, when you 'crack' it, it's such a great, rewarding racing game. Takes some practice though... That's fair. I'd still pick Scorcher as my desert island game. I -LOVE- that game. If I'm on a desert island with a friend, then I'd pick Street Racer. OK, maaaybe moderate difficulty is being a little generous, but it's no harder than Sega Rally. You have to play through the levels several times in order to master them and beat the track.

WELL, SO FAR... All seems pretty self explanatory re: votes. I admit, for me, after SEGA Rally, it comes down to (as I would class it) the Daytona USA series. As mentioned previously, I enjoy playing all 3 versions for different reasons. As such, my vote went to my preferred version (overall) of Daytona on the Saturn However, I am disappointed to see: 1) 0x votes for WipEout 2097 (which, potentially, was going to be my vote) and 2) 1x vote for SEGA Touring Car Happy to see Daytona CE get the love/respect it deserves though If I had to order my preferred racing games, AFTER SEGA Rally, it would read 1) Daytona USA series (cheating, I know!) 2) Scorcher (amazing!) 3) WipEout 2097 (decent)

I wasn't going to vote for games I haven't played, and I haven't played most of these. Perhaps that's the same for some others.

Outrun at 60fps, most definitely.

However, I am disappointed to see: 1) 0x votes for WipEout 2097 (which, potentially, was going to be my vote) It's worthy for it's quality by Sega Saturn standards, but it's a better game overall on PS1, if truth be told. If the PS1 version didn't exist then hell yeah there would be more votes for it. That's the problem.

I see alot of people talk about High Velocity (US Release, maybe Atlus?) as one of the best. What was JPN name of this one? Don't think its on the list.
Daytona Netlink Edition (US Only) I think would be the definitive version of Daytona ever on a console.
My vote goes to Sonic R, its the one I enjoy the most, but Ill admit alot for the non-racing elements.

Touge King the Spirits, I believe.
I don't get the love for that game to be honest.

Never played it myself. Seems like a bit of a hidden game in the US library because its usually cheap. But when I watch youtube videos of it people are generally surprised. Maybe they surprised because it looks like a budget title when they purchase it

Visually, it looks nice. Very little pop in. Control wise? It makes no sense. If you use an auto transmission and hit something, it kicks you to manual transmission in the middle of a race.

High Velocity is a nice game. You have to use manual transmission though. The big drawback to me is that you only race against one opponent.

Although that's kinda what I like most about it, gives it a unique feel to other Saturn racers plus I do like the backgrounds too. The only thing I dislike about High Velocity is the Word Font. I don't know what font it's in but it's extremley hard to read the attributes of each car because of the blurry font. Other than that, it's a solid fun game.
